Oh my goodness this is perfect weather! Mojo has been in his outside cage catching rays with me for about an hour now... we love spring time
-
i at first fell under this whole training thing. after the year has come and gone with mojo, i have given up. granted i do practice step ups between him and others that come to the house, i no longer "train" however. now i just chill out with him and enjoy him for who he is. so i will have to agree with this forum.

mojo does the same thing. whimpers almost like a chicklet. i did all kinds of research on it and it is nothing bad from what i gather. sometimes the whimpering or baby sounds are just a sound they picked up somewhere. as far as the cuddly mood i would suggest just speaking softly to her and doing as you are already doing. i am taking advantage of these moods as bonding oppertunities.

lol now thats funny "who did that" followed by a PU. thats greyt

are they cheaper if they are shelled? i give mojo raw unsalted unshelled almonds and he loves them. "wanna cookie?" and that boy drops everything! if they are comprable in price i may have to try shelled just to give him something to do.

well last night i was watching tv with the wife, and out of nowhere mojo farted lol.... my wife thought that it was me it was hilarious! so now he mimics the sound of a loud fart and because my wife and i were laughin soooo hard at it he does it alot. now i need to teach him to say excuse me.... also, i got laid off of my job. So now i am with him all the time! this is greyt for him as now he is starting to practice speech. still not talkin yet, but he is practicing. as it turns out my unemployment check is going to be comprable to what i was making so i am going to have to hang out with the kids and the bird this summer. they cut me from work over a misdamenor from six years ago!! i was with the company for about a year!!! what a load of crap. anyway they said i was rehirable in march of next year. since the kids fly out for the summer.... well y not just enjoy lol Mojo is doing greyt though and i am looking forward to all of the bonding time i shall have with him!

I had to share this video due to the fact that the dog and mojo are pretty chill together. and for those of you who are even thinking "what kind of bird owner would allow thier dog alone with a bird?" I am not that guy. they are not generally allowed near each other. Harley (the dog) could really care less about Mojo and visa versa. But i am always as close as i am in this video when they are near each other. only under extremely close supervision do they hang out. http://www.youtube.com/user/bandr1002?feature=mhum

i forgot to add ..... i do pull one weeks worth of food out and place it in the fridge to thaw before i warm it up to serve.

mojo is the only bird in my home and does not talk yet. however, his brother was the same way and when they brought another bird in the home he started talking and now won't shut up..... i have been to pet stores with multiple birds and they all talk. i would not worry about it too much.

lol i thought that was a stuffed cat lol getting back to topic... i am not in canada However, do you know anyone who lives within a short drive from you in the US. just a thought but maybe you could have it shipped to them and drive down to pick it up...
-
how would your mom like to take a vacation in sept to colorado lol. we are going on a four day trip out of state and i am not sure how mojo is going to handle it. tell your mom that she could prob get free trips all over the US as a grey sitter......she could travel, and never worry bout a place to stay!! lol ps. the caption tv idea is a brilliant one!!

you mentioned that gizmo really enjoys eating what you eat.... Mojo is the same way. in the morning i give him pellets (Zupreem natrual diet, not the coloured bag). He always puts the pellets in the water bowl to sofen them up... I think. In the eve i give him a veggie mix. we make one batch every month and we seperate them into baggies for the freezer. I give him about 2 teaspns or so becase he drops some on the floor. ingredients include but are not limited to.... quinua, cous cous, hot peppers, carrots, broc, garbonzo beans (these are his fav), and kale. to get him to eat this i would make a batch and have it for dinner with him. this is how i got mo to eat it. now he beeps like the microwave every night at 6 pm sharp. he LOVES it. to warm the food i nuke water in a bowl for 2 minutes (hence the microwave noises lol) then i float the bag until it is luke warm even all the way through. as for the pellets he rarely eats if i am not near by. i get up a little early to ensure that he eats breakfast lol. i just drink my coffee while he munches. as for the water bowl, i change the water 2x's a day. he has tried to bathe in it but never come close to hurting himself. when he bathes in it i know it is time for a shower, so i take him upstairs and bring him in the shower with me......he flaps and loves it. then he leaves his water pool alone until next shower is needed. he may not talk.....but he does comunicate with me anyway. hope this helps.

That is very encouraging I can't wait to see what he has to say
-
My wife hates that he won't do this for anyone but me though lol
-
So after 18 months he still is not talking (unlike his brother who won't shut up) lol. But, he is still extremely lovey dovey........ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u7DUYgSpZSI

so far all is good. when i get mojo out i lock the cat in a bed room. She stares at Him as though he is a gormet meal, the dog (Harley) does keep the cat (sophie) in check though. lol i now have a sylvester, tweetie, and spike thing going. lol
-
Got the cat, and all is good. The cat shows interest in mojo but then ignores him
-
If it were me... iwould wait until the newest baby was born. Making the grey the last edition to the family. My grey gets along with kids but I am cautious. He bit my son once... Drew blood. But my son was intrusive. You just need to make sure that you balance the attention equally.

Looks gr8!
-
My dog is the other concern. I think he might go ape crap if I get a cat lol
-
Congratulations! Sound s. As if you are in for a sweet personality of a bird
-
I have the bowls attached to the outside of the cage. It is right next to the cage so it works out.

How to build a perch for the carrier-urgent!

I use a cheap parokete cage for mojo. They are like 30 bucks at petsmart and the door is plenty big enough. I zip tied the little doors shut. Works greyt -
I don't leave mojo out unless I am going to be right there. Too many dangerous things for a bird who is as inquisitive as he is
