Not a good idea you will loose trust and that is important, birds do not react well to punishment they are not dogs. Physical punishment like that may not only damage your relationship with your bird but can cause a start to feather plucking please do not allow that to continue. Your bird is still a baby trying to learn about his environment his beak is like your hand in may ways it is a sensitive tactile organ to feel surfaces, discriminate items and share touch. His behavior is a normal part of his development, just tell him no if he is too rough when beaking people and put him down or back into his cage. You can also try giving him a toy to play with rather than a correction move, perhaps something soft like aq sock to play tug of war with. maybe something he can manipulate like foot toys or a paper roll. Like a toddler keep that bird and that beak busy to avoid the problem behavior rather than a correction. Hope that helps I know we have some further helpful suggestions to come.

Wonderful and sometimes funny how we adapt to their issues and needs, can improve our reaction time for sure.

We have oneTimneh that has a badly turned foot, he gets around great and is the most aggressive with other animals and birds of our flock. Smarty Pants has no idea he has a problem at all.

Happy happy to you! What is that birthday treat you are eating?

Almost all tile here with animals and heavy floor traffic it is the only sensible solution for us. We did put a Bamboo runner in the bathroom for stepping onto out of the tub and shower. I suppose if you are set on carpet you could insist they lay it out in your yard before installing? You can get both tile and wood with nonslip texture.

I don't have to they correct each other by name including the cats and dogs. I only clean and feed interact when they ask, Yes I know they run the house.

I think that we actually try to get along here. After all our Greys are flock birds we take after them a little squabble here and there share, some good ideas and learn form our feathered companions. (don't think we are quite as vain though)

I always have a mental picture of a Macaw when I read that.

i can add that sometimes when a Grey plucks the replacement feather will sometimes grow in red. Kind of like when a Grey dog has an area that was injured the hair may come back in black Brown on a white dogs. Also the more you let him know you are worried the more worried and stressed he will be so try and stay positive. The Beak and feather disease test is not always correct sometimes gives a false positive or a false negative one of the reasons this disease is so challenging. What ever the outcome just love that Grebie. I think "king grey" is a sales tool not a real subspecies.

Turmeric root is an excellent pain killer for a painful tooth, just apply a little bit to the tooth. May help if this ever happens again.

If the one near the wall is a Rose that is a safe plant not certain if the other is Pride of Barbados the seeds are toxic a form of hydrocyanic acid and the pods containing the seeds are heavy in tannins.

A true food critic, don't allow him to watch Gordon Ramsey he may pick up some very critical commentary.
