Another Texan here just outside of Houston, glad you found us. Your grey is settling in nicely and you will hear more vocalizations from him as the days roll on but not like a Conure at all. Conures are all kind of big bird attitude and bluster where a Grey often takes a more observational approach to life. "I think they are here to study us and report back to the Mother ship".

They tend to learn and repeat what ever appeals to them so each bird may select their own set of sounds. Our Greys all have words, sounds, whistles and song in their vocabularies. Each bird seems to have their own strengths and preferences. Pookie talks and sings mostly, Smokey Joe has the largest word collections but also whistles and makes some great sounds. Whisper my love bug her preference is sounds =wild birds Sparrows, Blue Jays, coffee pouring, pop tops and whistles but she does use a few words and Smarty Pants little Timneh is our whistle expert but also talks and makes human sounds-sneezes, coughs, clears throat and other less polite sounds. I think the more emotion is sounded in your words the more likely you may hear them repeat them.

You have my support also, great set up you have there. What ever decision Brooke makes I am sure re-homing her grey is no easy decision for her. Health, income, moving overseas, allergies in new partners, bird is unhappy, disasters such as fire, earthquake or serious injury are not easily foreseen. We all do the best we can and it is not right to make a judement with out walking in that persons shoes for a few miles. Just my opinion and I tell my hubby I am always right.

M62 learner driver 'accompanied only by parrot' The speeding driver was found to be accompanied only by her parrot, police said A motorist stopped for speeding on the M62 in West Yorkshire was a learner driver accompanied only by her pet parrot, police have revealed. The female 4x4 driver was pulled over by officers near junction 22 of the M62 at about 08:45 GMT on Sunday. Provisional drivers are only allowed to drive if accompanied by a qualified motorist and are banned from motorways. "Since parrots are not allowed to supervise learner drivers, her vehicle has been seized," police tweeted. The driver will also be dealt with later for motoring offences including speeding, West Yorkshire Police's Road Policing Unit said. I use vinegar or Hydrogen Peroxide both work and both leave a nontoxic residue that can be rinsed off easly if you wish. I don't dilute either one just apply to stubborn dried on droppings wait a few minutes then wipe off. Works great on my tile floors as well.

The Panama Amazons seem to have a more laid back personality, less aggressive but still a fun companion and talker. At least that is what I can tell you from my experience.

Have met Hawk heads-just beautiful but kind of unstable personalities, love the Alexandrines, Peacocks, Pheasants horses, Chickens and the rest of the Ark.

Owls a so good at what they do, I have worked with them when I was a Zookeeper and have done some Owl rescue as well. Sublime predators and you and Rocky are fortunate indeed, such quiet wings and unerring focus. I think more of them are becoming our neighbors in the suburbs as their territory in the wild has been reduced. Just like raccoons, Hawks and Coyotes.
