  1. Kevlar Harness? No I am certain they could destroy that too. Koko sounds very entertaining, has she sung her "Barney song" for you?
  2. So sorry for your loss it is a very difficult thing to watch your Grey fight to live and not make it.
  3. A good time to review your emergency plans. If you live on the East Coast near the coast definitely make sure you can handle power loss, have clean water stored, flashlights, food for you and pets and any meds.
  4. Stressed spelled backward is desserts.
  5. You can feel the sound wave coming off that Too scream I have been buffeted by that call. She sounds like a fun addition to your circus family. You may still be in the honey moon phase if all seems well and quiet right now, fingers crossed.
  6. Beautiful results her inner personality is blossoming more each day and she is becoming an intrepid explorer.
  7. Welcome and eat those new foods in front of Sako making those yummy sounds. You will at least pique her interest and make her more interested in trying new foods.
  8. I can just picture that episode, reality TV on steroids.
  9. Just watch for the sodium/sugar levels in commercial Peanut butter the natural or organics are the best for your bird. Raisins are high in Iron and natural sugars so limit the frequency you offer them.
  10. Make it easy just pour some Hydrogen Peroxide on the stuck goop wait a few minutes the wipe off it dissolves dried on droppings and food quite thoroughly. Vinegar and hot water are also good things and a steam cleaner works great.
  11. Getting all the bad out at one time, may the new start for everything turn out for the best!
  12. Wonderful to hear of her ice chest rondevous with you.
  13. I know that is a false hope, birds help you avoid boredom.
  14. That idea is not realistic it is a beautiful dream, you don't want your bird exposed to the possibility of disease or injury from other birds. In a mixed flight aviary all the birds have been health tested by the same Vet. usually. the smaller birds often introduced first then larger birds added slowly while behaviors are evaluated to avoid death by neighbor. A large heavily planted area offers the most safety as birds can get out of the line of sight to avoid being caught by aggressive birds. The separate room affords some protection from air borne diseases.
  15. When it rains it pours, I know you spend so much time and energy on the flock it does make life challenging. Wishing a lull in exspences and trauma for a while. Hope the coming weeks prove to be a bit less challenging, at least you will never ever be bored.
  16. One of those rare moments when things just fall into place the way you envisioned them. Good job!
  17. She will adjust there are so many larger challenges she has overcome this is just a small bump not even a hill. I am actually glad to hear about the growling, she feeling freedom to express herself with out repercussions.
  18. Mine is not refrigerated either.
  19. Which bird seems the most interested in you? I would allow the bird to help choose the family it wants to be with if you can.
  20. Please let me know how they enjoy the books and you are an organized person, thanks.
  21. Fresh is best, clean fresh seed can be mixed with some finely chopped veggies-beet tops, kale, mustard greens what ever you choose organic is suggested. You can add some bright colored peppers, carrots, sweet potato to add beta carotene's chop all very small and mix with what she is used to then she will taste some and eventually learn to appreciate a new healthy foods. Make a small amount and refrigerate any remainders no longer than 3 days.
  22. Pillow cases are easily stored and work well.
