1. Such knowledge in those wise grey heads, they remember better than we do sometimes. Thank you for sharing that story it make give some folks a little more insight into how those brains work and encourage a little more respect for all Parrots.
2. She is lovely appreciate the photos of your new Princess. I am thinking for such a lovely distinguished looking girl maybe Silver.
3. It kind of shows the skewed values people hold regarding life in all it's diverse forms. Feeling bad for the kids, the bird and everyone involved. A tragic situation when kids are hungry and a Too is collateral. I have kids and Too's as well as Greys and can imagine the desperation trying to get everyone fed and warm when out of work and money.
4. Welcome Amy nice to meet you and your bird. I share my house with a female CAG who has the Red Factor on her neck, legs and a few on her upper back and chest. Your bird may develop more or lose them as she matures. What did you name your girl?
5. Even the Too's at our house send their love and healing powers, Pookie leads them the right direction. Hugs to Spock and you all.
6. Great-progress and trust regaining. Keep up the slow and gentle approach and sorry you had such a tough day.
7. I am pretty confidant that I could pick out Pookie with her little red factor feathers and plucked throat area but I am even more confidant she could pick me out of a crowd.
8. Good to know you were able to get some food into him and waiting for the test results along with you. Please remember to keep us updated as we all do care.
9. Just remember to keep feeding some fresh veggies and a variety along with the pellets to avoid hypervitaminizing and the problems that go along with that. Moderation in all things will work here. Yes the color and smell varies with what is ingested with all of my birds.
10. Went to a meet up of folks from another bird site o line and the hostess is a rescue for Parrots. Long story short Pookie and I fell for each other when I was helping feed and clean her aviary. Had to spend time with her on the sofa and she went home with us on a two day car ride. funny how things work out, as another member went to meet a Sun Conure and came home with a Blue & Gold Macaw. Oops almost forgot to add about the three days of pleading with hubby to allow one more bird into our home.

Post edited by: Greywings, at: 2010/02/23 17:31
11. A great tribute to your little friend with the huge personality.
12. It is funny how they can select and direct the right human at the right time some times. So pleased Tracy found a wonderful new home and a new star-congratulations.
13. Wishing a happy safe return for this bird.
14. I am so happy for both you and Pepper, what a wonderful outcome for a very frightening accident. Good to know there are still some people who go out of their way to help those in need.
15. Hope they are able to turn his health to good quickly.
16. Can you get somewhere up high? If you are high up you might be able to spot that red tail. Also call the local Veterinary offices, pet shops and take some fliers to the local schools and ask if you can post them there. Lots more eyes to help look and lots more ears to hear if someone has taken Pepper in.
17. Here is hoping you find Pepper very soon. Should not be too far away yet so try to listen for her vocalizing and I second the putting a familiar cage where she can see it with food and water. Sending my best wishes for a rapid recovery. Big hugs :>
18. Baytril is a deep acting antibiotic, hopes for a good recovery and continued improvements.
