  1. It is not the size of the cage but how your bird will react. Each Grey is an individual and may like or dislike what ever bird you bring in. I would have any new bird examined and quarantined before putting them in the same room. Do not immediately put them side by side allow them the distance to get to hear and view each other from a distance first. Pookie is a CAG and at the moment I also have a TAG and another CAG in the house, she ignores them totally. We also have one U2 and an Elanora 2 she will share a cage top with the Eleanora nicely. Hates the U2 who is aggressive so is not allowed out of cage when any of the others are out (he is fascinated with her). One of the other CAG's loves attention but hates other birds Grey or not (jealousy issues) the TAG is not flighted and allows no other birds on his cage(puts his head down and charges) but does love to watch the others during their daily activities and they are all learning each others vocabularies. Unique individuals each one. You know your bird and hope that the room in your cage can be filled if Yoshi has room in her heart and her life. They may work out to be each others best friend and you could be the outsider as well, you just don't know ahead of time.
  2. My Grey will walk through that bomb and emerge happily with poopy feet. So My Grey has dirtier feet than your Grey.
  3. I think I would be so torn over that one, give it to a deserving friend. You messed up at work and some one else was blamed, do you- #1 Confess and take the blame #2 Sigh with relief and keep on keeping on #3 Help move the blame to the one who dumps their work on everyone else?

Psittacines Where do Grass Parakeets originate?
  5. We do our deepest breathing during sleep or strenuous exercise so adding an air purifier (non ionizing) to our sleeping areas would be beneficial. Lots of showers or spray mistings help as well and are so good for the birds.
  6. What kind of beans? Some are good and some are not a healthy choice. I do not think you have a big problem there you have him on a good diet just as it is. If you want to mix some pelleted food into the fresh try that or cook into some bean and grain mix or birdy bread.
  7. She embodies curiosity in that first shot, lovely girl.
  8. They make a little jacket that is simple and available on line called "Sock Buddy" you might want to check it out as knitted yarn is a loose weave and might cause problems catching on toys and cage parts.
  9. #2 Say no end of story Your dog steals the main course off the table with company arriving. #1 Go buy replacement food and recook #2 Change of plans eat out #3 Change meal to leftovers or sandwiches #4 Dump the rest of the food over the head or in the lap of the guy in the last question, accidentally.<br><br>Post edited by: Greywings, at: 2010/03/05 17:31

  11. I am a was so would walk quietly away. You are at a new restraunt and just took the first taste of your food, yuk it is not what you expected. 1#Do you leave the food on your plarte with no comment and no tip? 2#Do you send it back with a comment? 3#Do you just avoid that eatery in the future?
  12. You are on your own in this situation and must come up with your very own answer.
  13. My Grey can bark and howl better than your Grey.
  14. This will be a fill in the blank game. My Grey can ( )better than your Grey. lol
  15. Go barefoot and be the most comfortable person there. Your Grey just bit your Mother in Law now how do you convince her that was not a planned attack?
  16. Intelligent birds like Greys and Too's work on the what is in it for me principle so the discipline you use for a dog or does not work on a bird. I will agree with what Danmcq said about the brief time out. Stop immediately when they start and undesired behavior and return them to the cage for a BREIF time out you don't even have to say anything. He will understand he is loosing his opportunity to spend time with you time out of the cage. Return let him out and give him another chance to get it right, apply praise when he is gentle return to cage when he is not. Be consistent very consistent and you will see his behavior change for the better.
  17. I would not recommend using it for your bird, it is safer to avoid anything scented and if it is a clay based litter your bird may want to ingest some making it doubly unsafe. You can use the dried ground corn cob litter, pine shavings or Dried ground Walnut shell litter. Just make certain you remove any old food so it is not spoiling or molding at the bottom of the cage. If your bird like to forage on the cage bottom you can give him or her a box or container of clean sand to dig in after watching you hide some treats or toys in the sand.
  18. That stomach bug knocked my daughter down for a week it was a nasty one. Hope you are feeling a bit better today and I am sure Paco is loving having you home.

    Broken back?

Keep up the good work you have gotten him past the worst part now the therapy and diet changes will give you something new to work with. I know that the love and care you have shared with Vree have brought him this far and now you have more tools to work with in order to restore him to the best outcome, stay positive!
  20. Ok now we know he just requires a Gourmet chef for his feedings, glad his weight is returning to normal.
  21. Lol what a great visual, they are selective and manage to make their perferances clear.
  22. Hope they all make it, so glad the smugglers were interrupted and the Greys remained in their own world.
