is the tree right next to her? I do know if I put the tree right next to Jasper he would flip out.

So. Dog went outside, we smelled skunk. Thought oh wow, that's pretty strong, we should let the dog in. Let the dog in. We both are thinking, wow, that is really strong. Rocky (dog) starts rubbing his nose on the carpet. We both jump up because we realize we think he got sprayed. Got up, smelled him and oh yes, the skunk got his chest and nose. So we shoved him into the garage while we tried to figure out what to do. Cleaned the carpet (same room jasper is in) with vinegar. I think the carpet is clean. I am also going to pour maybe the whole box of baking soda on the area he rubbed his nose on too. (our house just plain reeks of skunk...so hopefully the carpet is clean now). The dog needs a few more baths. yup, maybe 10 more.... Is this skunk smell being so powerful ok for Jasper? I'm just a bit worried about him... It's so strong. Smells like a pound of burned garlic, tire burn, and hot eraser shoved up your nose and into your throat. Where of course, even not at home, i can still smell it! I could only imagine poor Jasper! He seems ok. Was telling Rocky to 'get in your box' and 'Rocky box!' a lot though...

he is adorable. thanks for sharing! I put jasper in the cage at night... He he got spooked and flew off, he might fly into something.... and it's for my piece of mind about poo too! The living room is dark, but the outside light is on and it provides a little light. I would leave a night light on (in the wild, they do have the moon) just so he can see to get around if he needs too.

Has anyone seen this? I watched the previews and I am horrified. I really do NOT think i could watch the whole movie. MUST we treat the animals this way? What was your take on it and if you've seen it, was the whole movie just like the previews?

is it all the time? like he just wakes up to eat and drink and then goes right back to sleep. Or is it plays for a while, sleeps a bit, eats, drinks, plays, sleeps? Give us his pattern...

Jasper constantly says my daughter Summer's name... And he is constantly telling our dog, to 'get in your box'. So one day he goes, Summer, get in your box!' Stopped talking and then goes, 'WHAT?' It was hilarious... like he was asking himself what he had just said!!!

Thanks for the responses everyone!!! Jasper used to love almonds. If you give him one now, he'll throw it down and ask for a pistachio. I really do think he was pissed. He had been asking for one for over a hour... So, I've started telling him no when I'm not going to give him one or yes when I do give him one. There is not often that I can surprise him with one (I did this morning though!) I'm hoping he'll pick up what the 'no' and 'yes' means soon Dan, I knew after that incident if I didn't give him a pistachio, I would probably have gotten bit! His voice even sounded pissy. I wish I could have caught it on video.

LOL! Now that I think about it, I probably did piss him off!!! I don't give him one every time he asks (otherwise...well, you know!) and he had been asking for one for about a hour and I hadn't given him one yet... he was probably fed up and was willing to do about anything to get his talon's on a pistachio! We get our pistachios from the bird store (unsalted raw) but where do you get them? I would...no, need to get order bulk!

Does your bird talk with there feathers normal? Or can they be fluffed out? Jasper has been going NUTS on Pistachios. He LOVES them. Asks for them 20 times a hour while he's being talkative. One day, I went to get him from the bathroom and he fluffed up, pined his eyes to where they were specks and said, want pistachio? The thought that went through my mind was, pistachio's is like crack to him! I guess I never really thought they could be fluffed up and talk... So, I thought I'd ask about it!

Oh and I was surprised that he was a 3. He didn't seem to care he was in the sink... Which was weird...

Ok, so I did it! (When I got home from work, he's dry now... took 1 hour and 30 minutes for him to be dry) I filled up the sink and then went over and got him. Managed to get him in the sink, he managed to get past my hand. Went over and got him off the back of the chair (his favorite spot) and then got him back in the sink and kept my hand about 2 inches from his head. I followed him around and got his back with the mister... He was so interested in the walls of the sink that I was able to get him without my hand following him everywhere, but not to long... I figured i should have it over his head. So after a few minutes (we didn't make it to 5) he figured out how to get on the divider thing that separates the sinks. Even with my hand above him... But he was soaked. I tried to put him back in, but he wasn't having it... so I didn't make him. Put him on his perch and didn't hear a peep for about 20 minutes. (I did give him a treat and made a big deal of him being a good boy) Now... Having my hand when he was determined to get on the divider thing over his head, didn't really work... Just keep putting him back? Wish my sink was deeper!

oh, OK! Now i get what you mean by putting your hands around him. I thought it was perched on my finger with my hand on his back. I'm pretty sure he's going to not like whatever bathing method I choose. I would like to at least not exhaust myself getting him bathed! Maybe 'someday' he'll just grumble, but I know that's a long way out. And a sink will be easier than a tub! Especially if he's not to wet to fly (that's how i got him in the tub) was by him flying through the shower spray enough times to be to heavy to fly... Thank you so much. You've helped... just thinking of bath time would exhaust me... But now, I feel more confident that I don't have to be exhausted.
