  1. How precious your family is with your little Tweak. Thanks for the pics to help us get to know you better. It looks like your home is well prepared for this little angel. Thanks again for joining us and sharing your grey experience.
  2. I am glad you found your way in to the new room and told us Owen's story. He looks so sweet and quiet in his photo, not a little trickster, LOL.
  3. Thanks for posting this comment on how the work is worth the joy you have with Yoshi. I have been thinking on trying again and sometimes feel like it is too hard to think about it. When I read your post, it made me really clarify that it is worth it.
  4. I am so sorry for what you have gone through. It takes a lot of courage to share with us when you feel so bad about what happened. It does help me to keep this in my mind when I think I will only be a minute doing something and don't want to fight a bird to get her in the cage while I am doing something dangerous. Your experience gives me strength. I hope Rikki is okay tomorrow and hope you aren't too hard on yourself because mishaps happen to the best of us.
  5. I love to see Ana Grey putting her energy to good use and whacking away at the toys. I also loved her shadow on the wall. She looks like she is having so much fun.
  6. My New Year's Resolution is to spend more time learning watercolor on fabric, and less time cleaning.
  7. Thanks for thinking of my little friend. She has been wildly enjoying her freedom. She has a new job too. Our three dogs like to lay on the back of the new sofa in the sunshine, like cats. One at a time wouldn't be an issue, but three together on the same cushion are going to break it down. So, once I chased them off, now Java flies over and chases them down for me. She is gleeful with her swooping and loves the result. She had been repeating all of Juno's whoops and chortles but when I came home without him she has never made another of his sounds although she still makes sounds of the cockatiel we fostered three years ago. She is such a joy and comfort in my life.
  8. Omigosh that was funny. I have those and hung them from links, never thought to use it as a foot toy... or attack object. LOL. I loved it when he got so involved he rolled off the open door. Thanks Dan!
  9. Watching your reaction and getting your attention from her "rival" was probably exciting to her. She is still testing her new home and isn't sure of herself. When she sees how you praise her and are filled with joy at her noises and talking, she will surely reward you rather than the other way around. You are making such great progess in a short time, thanks so much for sharing your excitement with us. Happiness is contagious!
  10. Spock, you are so beautiful, I am in love. You have a fan club.
  11. Phew! I have missed you too. It is awful to have the computer quit on you, but glad to know you and your birds are A-OK. Can't wait until you are back online with us again. Happy New Year.
  12. All of your ideas are terrific! What a generous group we have on this forum to share tips that will make all our birds have more interesting and interactive lives with us. Thanks so much.
  13. Grumpy Old Men with Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau, Ann-Margret, Burgess Meredith... plus, loved the sequel Grumpier Old Men with all the above plus Sophia Loren
  14. Don't you worry Jill, Harvey will suss you out to alert Judy to your little hidey hole.
  15. Did Sindbad like the sound of a cell phone or other object that would get him excited? If there is something he liked, you might be able to get a recording or something hoping he would respond. You have my admiration for how hard you are working to find him. It makes me so happy to know you are not giving up or getting disheartened but focused on doing everything in your power to find him. Thank you for keeping us updated as much as you have time during your hardship.
  16. He came all right Bernie, where do you think that lump of coal came from?

    I SPY

Father Time on Time Square I spy with my little eye NYR already being broken
  18. Are we late for Ben's hatchday or early for next year? Or is this a reason to celebrate the whole year? Good idea, I get right started on that.
  19. Being that you have a moderator, that you have the support of a lot of people for the Amazon room, I love the notion and the heart behind it. Thanks Talon. I thought it was a great idea and would like to see it continue. Please rediscover the excitement, it is contagious! Dee
  20. He is really cute walking around on top of his cage whistling. You can just see the little gears going round in his brain to tempt you back into the room with him. I loved the c'mere at the end. How precious. I'm sure you had to come here to him too.
  21. So Bernie, does your guitar gig really get so wild that you have to strap yourself down? Bernie's been belted, I'm guessing there are plenty of folks out there who would have liked belt ya.
  22. Congratulations on reaching this milestone with Rudy. I am really proud of you letting her do this on her own schedule, you are a good mama.
  23. It is hard to wait for the little one to be ready to come home. All the preparation and reading is worth it and will help pass the time as you get more ideas for setting up your home to take in this glorious little grey bird. Congratulations and thanks for joining us for your journey.
  24. Welcome to you and Jimmy. You have come to a good place to learn about sharing your life with a grey. The people here have helped me a lot, are very supportive and have an exstensive accumulation of knowledge about the African Greys as well as a great sense of humor. Once you find your way around, I would love to hear more about Jimmy.
