    Laid Back

It's so cute when they when you carry them like luggage, both Spock and Salsa do it, Here's a Vid of Spock..
  2. That would be a Great choice Janet.... http://www.avianweb.com/orangewingedamazon.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orange-winged_Amazon http://www.parrots.org/index.php/encyclopedia/profile/orange_winged_amazon/ The main thing you want to check for is "Fatty Lumps" they can even be on the meaty part of the wing. A Orange-wing is easy to maintain and feed, Most love to bathe, There not as noisy as most Amazons and that's usually around 6pm.Their easy to quiet down, just give them attention! They don't have the baggage like a Grey! As said before: If a Amazon falls, he says "Oh-Well", where a Grey will think about what would happen if he fell. Jayd
  3. Welcome!!!!! Beautiful Grey!!! Judy and Dan are polite, [i'm not!!!] OK Wheres the photo's? Post story's for the other [Grey't] members, I can't read, but love those photo's....... Thanks Jayd, Maggie and Spock and the Flock.....
  4. A cherry-headed[red-front] conure has a full red head, Blue crowned conure' [as photo shows has blk lower mandible, eyes are not the same. Other two, a Mitered and Orange wing. A IRN or Alex female has no ring on neck, and a lighter colored candy beak, same as a Eclectus. There's a number of Alex sub species, another close candidate is the"Green Conure" biggest problem is the coloring on the wing. Janet said it looked like a picture of a female Alex......Our mitered [buddy] is as large as our Amazon [salsa].... Jayd
  5. That's a Grey't start for a baby!!!!How about some currant photo's...Jayd
  6. Thanks for keeping me informed, Hug them for me, you relax tonight. Jayd
  7. Maybe you better wait awhile till they get a little better balance. Yes, they love you very much!!! Take a paper finger nail file, the smoother side, and drag it lightly across the tips of their nails, not to much! have your styptic powder right there ready, all it will take is a little filing, very little. Does your partner like the babies? Love ya Jayd P.S. You have a good time tonight.....
  8. Is the porch enclosed? Drafty or to cool? Your going to have a long time of that sad look![so cute] is there any chance of another animal getting at them? You'd still have to be right there with them! Jayd
  9. Nice story, love that chicken!! Here's a of photos [your baby's age]of Spock if you don't mind. Jayd
  10. Here's a very useful thread , I hope....http://www.greyforums.net/forums/showthread.php?189769-Abundent-Feeding! Jayd
  11. Thank you Dan. This forum is a open forum, were not always going to hear what we want to hear, right or wrong, but if we don't post, no one will be there to reply, or learn! Jayd
  12. We also give our fids "Snow Peas" [their cheaper] they don't like them as well, except Salsa and Tango, but they eat them.....Jayd
  13. Hi. This fits in with my "I just Realized" thread. Some of the things Joey said shortly after we got him were: Raymond, are you going to feed me? [Raymond 1st owner] Can I have some water?, Get a Lawyer!, You can't hide!, Joey bad!, Joe, bad bird!, Ray don't!, etc, and now this. I think Joey has applied a old negative comment to a new situation, he laughs after he says it....It has deep reaching roots!!!! Jayd Spock here! ROFLOL!!!!
  14. Good morning, Boy it's good to hear that crossfit's post was useful to you. Now it's time to move on. Crossfit, there's no reason for you to stop posting , please continue or you'll be doing a Disservice to the people of this forum! We don't all disagree or agree. And Girltron, you might owe Dave a bit of thanks, he stood up for you, right or wrong! And Dave?, with all your years of wisdom and experience Thanks Jayd
  15. Thank you so much, Salsa is a little over a year old, she goes into all the other cages and sneaks their food! Whats cut is to see her and the 2 Grey's eat off of the same plate together. Looking forward to more threads.. Jayd
  16. Thats Grey't, good Mama, play and hold and talk to them as much as you can, when they grow up they don't cuddle as much. Talk to them all you can, start saying hello whenever you get near them.....Talk later....Jayd
  17. Thank you. Yes, some breeders Gavage feed or needle feed it's called, there's no need to feed a baby that way, it's very unnatural and I feel it does little for bonding.... If I may, could you please use your user name or sir name in your threads or postings so as to not get people confused? It would be greatly appreciated.. Thank You Jayd
  18. I love your attitude!! Yes, please let your sister know about us,,,Thanks Jayd
  19. Thank you, very interesting to read but too many variables. Have you PM'ed dave007 or Spinner, these gentleman are world class breeder/owners. Jayd
  20. Please don't do this!!!! This really isn't a good thing to do! This is very dangerous!!!The tip of the syringe is placed just inside the side of the beak, not down the throat, I won't even get into Gavage feeding here, it's a no-no!! The head bouncing motion is what keeps the bird from aspirating. Thanks Jayd
  21. What a wonderful life you've given each other. Salsa our zon gets along pretty good with the other bird members of the flock. Is Buddy a one person bird? It's heart warming to hear how well your taking care of his [amazon's] special needs, My self and others will be looking forward to more installment of you and Buddy. Please don't limit yourself on Writing threads and posting in this room; Thanks so much! Jayd
  22. What a wonderful bird, flying so good and going to 1 feeding a day, I'm sure you know their formula temp should be 105 to 109 degrees F... Spock and his 3 siblings didn't wean for over 20 weeks, they were I guess, slow Grey's. Keep us informed. Jayd... P.S. Have you read the thread, http://www.greyforums.net/forums/showthread.php?189724-Phoebe%28tanya%29-babys&p=196447#post196447 Her poor babies are 9 weeks old and are just starting to balance good. Your so lucky!
  23. Always here for you all, Get some rest, pretty soon their going to try and become more independent. jayd
  24. We'll both worry, I understand about Walmart, no problem. Let me know how you all do in the morning... Jayd
  25. The Alexandrine is a little larger then a IRN keet. A orange wing is one of the best Amazons, Salsa a Orange wing, just ask I'll do my best to help....Jayd
