1. LOL does anyone know the answer to this?
2. Has anyone else seen the ad for "noel's Christmas Presents"? There is Dolly Parton in all her glory - IN THE UK!!! Well you could've called in for a proper hot (the way it's supposed to be made) cuppa Jude!
3. ...when I can help myself to some of the forbidden stuff ...and I don't trust her with that flipping thing with the flashing light!
4. Yes it is, make the most of it as they soon become less dependant and their personalities develop but that is just another terrific stage to look forward to
5. Aww what a sweetie, he looks so cute in that "jacket."
6. Thank you zzz and Greywings, yes it is a good idea for all those with birds to have smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, these days they are relatively inexpensive and priceless to our fids.
7. I received this today as part of a newsletter and thought you guys would appreciate it, fore-warned is fore-armed as they say: "Fire? Flood? etc and etc. Even if you have proper bird carriers kept to hand how would you move/carry more than two? Pillow cases - keep one in every room your birds are likely to be in. Be sure you tell everyone in the family/house where they are kept and show them how to use them. Sew a doubled over long bootlace as a tie string a few inches down from the top, or do a proper job and weave a chord through a wide open-ended hem in the top of the pillow case. Add beads if you like or make big knots so that you can easily find the ends of the ties in a hurry. You could even paint the drawstrings with glow in the dark paint so that the bags can be found in the dark. For bigger birds, a single duvet cover or one cut in half and resewn. Allow one per bird as it wouldn't be wise to place more than one bird in each .... bites and injuries may happen from the panic and upset of it all. I keep one in the car too for any emergency wildlife pick-up but do be sure to have a really heavy pair of gloves too .... injured and frightened wildlife can and will bite HARD." Keep safe, keep your fids safe.
8. Not sure about a nutty room for Bernie & Jill, I think a padded cell is more in order. I'm making notes for Judy's return
9. I wouldn't worry at all about this, as long as it doesn't continue too long. He is probably still getting used to his surroundings, he will eat when he is hungry. He is a little darling.
10. The only thing I can add to this is enjoy him, as soon as he gets over his initial fear you are in for a lot of fun together but one step at a time. Don't be alarmed if he doesn't eat much for the first 24 hrs, he may well grieve for the people he knows for a few days.
11. NO THE ANSWER IS NOT LAXATIVES! Footprints. Ok here's one: I made a mug of coffee, I put it into the microwave for 90 seconds, opened the door, closed it again and switched it on for another 2 seconds. Why did I do that?
12. Janet I can take the wolf whistles, it's the smoke alarm I find too piercing and I'm not sure what Beau is trying to say but he does that when I'm cooking  That's cool Dan but you are right it does get irritating.
13. It's cringe worthy Jill. Ehem, you? Shy?? {Feel-good-0002006E}
14. Hi Natasha, I guess you've been here before?
15. ...if I hear Beau say "dance Beau" one more time  Just got back for a lunch break and it's all I've heard for the past hour, it's not so much what he is saying but it's loud and very obviously my voice, it sounds blood-curdling to me GRRR
16. Thanks for keeping us updated on this. Wishing Moe a speedy recovery, he sounds like a lovely character.
17. I'm not sure how many members this site has but I'd imagine it's the most densely populated of the parrot forum sites. I was wondering, one of the biggest "problems" with being parrot owners must surely be what to do about our parrots should one of us dare (;-)) to take a holiday. I know Jill is fairly close to another member (Lyn?) and I know there are other members in my city according to the map on my profile page. Does anyone think that we might benefit from a register of owners willing to take care of another members' bird/s should they go away providing of course, they are within the same city. We could perhaps drop off our fid/s en route. Just an idea.
18. Ha it really hurts when they bite and not just physically. Beau also gets put in his cage when he bites - usually when he has been taken away from destroying something. It's reasuring to know it's not just me. Have you considered joining the parrot bite me club?
19. I had problems getting on the forum this morning so it was good to get on and read this good news. Must be a relief to you Pat after all the hard work you put into building up his strength.
20. An envelope. Come on forum members, it's only Janet & me playing these games!
21. There is something that is nothing but it has a name. It joins our walks; it joins our talks; it plays in every game. What is it?
22. But there is only us playing it Janet, no one else is interested  "He was benched during the basketball playoffs." He was substituted ie.sat on the bench.

Post edited by: Joolesgreyuk, at: 2009/12/06 00:21
23. You need to get your bird to an avian vet and the sooner the better. If he hasn't eaten all day then he is sick, the other symptoms confirm this. Good luck and please let us know the outcome.
