  1. Well the latest is that Beau & Argyle have both picked-up lots of words & sounds, now I'm not saying my cooking is bad but Beau has the microwave and the smoke detector off to a tee  and man is it loud and piercing???! He is certainly much happier since the addition of Argyle to the flock and no longer do I find him looking bored when I get in from work. I would say that Beau has between 6 & 9 words and phrases to his vocabulary, the latest being "go poo poo" before actually going and "Bo Bo" in Steve's voice. Mostly though he talks in my voice. Argyle seems to be warming to Jordan and Jordan has taught him to dance (Beau dances too) he also greets Jordan with "Hello" when he gets home from school. I know his previous owners had children so maybe this is the reason. He seems a little better with his nipping but it depends on what mood he is in tbh - definately a male ;-) I Love my fids.
  2. I can't work it out, I left the house for work this morning and the floor was spotless, I returned at lunchtime to find a fresh birdy poo by the side of Beau's cage on the floor (carpet actually) now I've been sitting here trying to work out the scientific angles of Beau's botty in relation to the ground and I cannot work out how a poo can end up on the floor on the outside of his cage!? Can any scientists/mathematitions/clever Richards (;-)) on here help with the mathematical aspects of my predicament? The best reply gets my karma for today.
  3. I iron in the same room as my fids, I don't believe my iron is teflon coated and tbh it doesn't get that hot either but I hadn't thought of the posibility of it being harmful to my birds in fact they enjoy me being close by and I thought the steam in the air would be good for them. Am I wrong to do this?
  4. Are we back to the egg again Janet?
  5. Yes I agree with you and I'm the same. We have had members on here buy cages from Ebay and I've not heard anyone say they had a bad experience. Just make sure you don't rush your purchase, do your homework and you should be ok. You can't beat a good bargain!
  6. Haha, would love to have seen her do that.
  7. Hi Nealo, yes that surely is a good sign the guy won't sell to just anyone. Ebay is a great place to buy a reasonably priced cage, a good idea is to check the name of the cage and compare it with the same cage in a more expensive shop, be sure to ask the seller any questions you need to ask about the cage and ask him/her if the cage is like-for-like and compare prices, take into account postage too - this is sometimes free on Ebay cages. Check feedback for happy customers and away you go.
  8. OMG Pat what a stunning bird, he's gorgeous! I don't know how you do it though, where do you house all these fids and how can you afford to keep them all?
  9. OMG that is sooo sweet how Alfie just sits there with no complaints and with your fingers intact lol. Looks to me like she thoroughly enjoyed her shower. Beau puts up much more opposition than that Lyn! Well done you both and a  for Alfie foe being a good clean girl :silly:
  10. Your breath. I can't believe I didn't think of Mother - DOH!
  11. Awww how sweet. Beau's sweetest words are "kiss, kiss, kiss, kiss" Lol
  12. Lyn, do you know if you can claim for bloods, nail clipping and such like when your bird has his annual MOT or are emergencies & illnesses only covered?
  13. I love watching Emma on her boing, she is so sweet natured.
  14. Perhaps Harvey DOES talk Jill, it isn't that clear to begin with - it's more the "tune" with which they copy you until the words become more obvious. Or it could just be that Harvey chatters to himself when you are out of the room. Either way I'm confident it will come so long as you keep talking to him and resist the temptation to copy his whistles.
  15. Hi Jenny, we have a member here (she) who lives not too far from you in Liverpool, she may be able to help you with breeders. There are two Insurance companies I know of, one being exotic direct who I have mine insured with and Golden Valley who I think may be a little cheaper, hope this helps.
  16. Wooowoop for Ana Grey!!! {Feel-good-000200BB}
  17. It does take a while to recover fully from flu but katana is right, just let Darwin know you are nearby and try not to rush yourself back to full health or work. Darwin will be there ready and waiting for you when you are fully recovered.
  18. These are cool toys, your parrot paradise store must be a great place to visit, wish we had one here.
  19. The tree stand looks perfect in that window, just right for watching the goings on lol. Is Rikki learning to play guitar too? That's one talented parrot you have there
  20. Oh wow that is a cool tree stand. I know what you mean about Rikki being afraid of it, Beau is petrified of his new boing, it's day 3 and he won't go near it lol.
  21. Each individual has their own opinion on this topic. I think it's time to just agree to disagree. Each side can find supporters and foes. :-) Well that just about sums it up I think, well said Dan.
