  1. Sorry Bernie I'm not putting a tree up this year so no pics. Anyway, you haven't answered my question!
  2. Bernie where are your pictures of last night's meteor shower - there's no excuse. the skies were clear ;-)
  3. Had to share this, I usually leave the radio on for the fids when I'm working mornings, obviously Beau has been listening to it rather closely because today he greeted me with wait for it....the lunchtime pips - you know the 5 short ones followed by the extended one. Hillarious!
  4. Lovely pictures, thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas!
  5. Tiger HAHAHAHAHAHA! Very good Dan! {Feel-good-0002006E}
  6. Oh dear, I sense a fight breaking out on here, can I be ref? :laugh:
  7. LOL no need to apologise Dan, your list was funny. Jill's lampshade description had me laughing too - very funny, I can just picture that expensive lamp LOL our greys have no respect do they.
  8. Dan, I asked to name a SINGLE item, we could all compile a list as long as your arm, I was hoping to hear of some obscure cases to make me laugh Beau likes buttons but prefers destroying zips...let's not go there eh? :laugh:
  9. Hi Fresca, you can usually tell if your bird is chewing his/her feathers by the state of them, the shaft will look chewed whereas feathers lost in a molt are usually "clean" and normal looking. It does sound by your description of your fid's chest that he is indeed plucking, if this is so you will have to try to work out the reasons why he is doing so. Why not have a word with your avian vet and ask for advice on how to stop this. The problem with feather plucking is that it can become habitual and is often difficult to stop. If he isn't plucking and not replacing feathers then he could possibly have a vitamin deficiency, again your vet is the best person to advise you. I hope you sort this out and please do let us know the outcome.
  10. Hi pep and welcome to the forum, this is a great place to be for all the info you need on the general care of AGs, (saying this you probably have a fair amount of knowlwdge having had a grey for two years) but it is also a great place to meet fellow owners and just relax and discuss. Looking forward to reading more posts from you in the future.
  11. Caitlyn, I love your signature, it has to be one of the best ones on here.
  12. If they are breaking through rough play I don't really see how you can remedy this, much more of a worry I would think would be if he is plucking them or if it was affecting his flying. Beau has lost a couple of tail feathers too and doesn't seem to be getting them replaced any time soon. Looking at the picture of Ecko though he does seem to have a gap in the middle. Why don't you try pming someone more knowledgeable such as Dave or Dan.
  13. Following on from an old post of mine (pooped-on pocessions) could each and every one of us (who can be bothered to post ;-)) name a single item your parrot has ruined? I will start this off, I don't have a single pen in the house that hasn't been crushed by an excited beak!
  14. I think I'd have to agree with Sheila, you might have underlying issues going on with this bird but you certainly kept a clear head in the emergency and karma to you for your quick thinking.
  15. Thanks for sharing these pictures, they are so cute.
  16. Thanks for sharing these pictures Pat, it's always a pleasure to see pics of your macaws they are so beautiful. You spoil your birds rotton and why not, it's obvious you love them.
  17. I don't think I've posted a picture of Beau in his entirety and I thought this was a good one I took of him on his stand a few days ago. I like pictures where the background doesn't "swollow-up" the subject. BTW I have noticed that Beau's tail isn't as long as some of the greys on this forum, do they get longer after the first molt?
  18. You know I love you guys, you are my favourite forum members...along with Caz and Sheila and.....well you are definately two of the best! B) {Feel-good-000200BB}
  19. LOL, no the 2 seconds would enable me to lift out the mug by the handle therefore not getting my fingers burnt.
  20. Good luck to you and Tobie. The treatment seems to have gone really well, now it's just the waiting game.
  21. I think I'm the only sane person on this forum
