  1. Your pictures are wonderful! Mr. Shah looks adorable, as does the new baby. Welcome to the forum!
  2. Congrats on getting the new baby bird! There's nothing quite like an AG!
  3. I wasn't able to find a breeder anywhere near my area, either, so I had no choice but to to with a breeder elsewhere and have the bird shipped. Luckily all turned out well, but I think you'll enjoy being able to pick out your own AG so much more than picking one up from the airport! Good luck to you!
  4. Mine is 7 months old too, and I'm hoping that all her jabbering during the day will turn up a word or two eventually! Congrats on the baby talking!
  5. Wow! Char, your story really touched me, because not only am I in Louisville and couldn't find a breeder near me, but I bought a Grey sight unseen through a breeeder in Georgia. I'm glad and very lucky that my little CAG is as healthy and happy as she is! I hope that ASPCA does something about that pet shop, it sounds just horrible. But I'm like you, I'd of bought that little wild eyed baby up so I wouldn't have to think about it anymore....I know, that's not what you need to hear right now!
  6. Hi Nasy, I just read your posts today and wanted to add my condolences. It sounds like you did everything you could for Coocie, and I'm very sorry about the outcome.
  7. I've got the rotisserie and use it occasionally, but my bird is far from the kitchen, too. It's better to be safe than sorry, though, and I wouldn't use it if the bird is housed too close to it.
  8. I play peek-a-boo with my CAG daily, too. I'm still trying to get her used to other things, and looking for ideas. You all have some great ideas to try! Thanks!
  9. My Dodo makes smoochy, kissy sounds...it sounds so cute when she makes all these funny sounds together and then gives a whistle, and a kiss all at once! She's only 7 months old so she can't talk yet, but I'm still amazed nonetheless!
  10. I have trouble getting mine to eat veggies AND fruits, too! The only thing I've found that she really likes is red bell peppers, and that was short lived as well. Mine just gobbles up the pellets like they're the most delicious thing ever.
  11. Please let us know how you and Lacey are doing. I'm sorry and will have you both in my thoughts.
  12. My CAG is 7 months old and hasn't uttered a single word yet. I'm thinking that she's not going to talk, but maybe it's just too soon for her, too.
  13. hehehe...the 'assasination plot' got me, too! Great sense of humor you've shown in your post, BecoG! Welcome to the forum! I'm sure you're going to find tons of useful information here!
  14. Hi Carol, and welcome to the forum! It really is a great place to come for advice. Plus everyone is so friendly and helpful! I'm a stay at home mom of 3, but I'm nowhere near as creative as you are, and I can't draw a stick figure much less make a toy! But I'll be looking forward to seeing your homemade bird toys! I could use some ideas! (Heck, maybe one of the kids could help me out if I can't make it myself! ) Nice to have you here!
  15. I'm glad I came across this post...I've been looking for a good cage cleaner! Thanks for posting this!
  16. Welcome to the forum, Scarlet, I'm sure you're going to find tons of useful information here. I know I'm addicted to the site already! The people are so friendly and helpful! I'm in Louisville, so we're sort of neighbors! Nice to meet you!
  17. I would simply LOVE your job! (Not the one with the lawyers, but the one with the birds! ) Welcome to the forum, you're going to love it here!
  18. Your love and enthusiasm for Sidney shows through your post! What an intelligent little love you've found, I wish I could train mine to let me know when she's gonna take a poo! I'd be in parrot heaven, too! Enjoy your little sweetheart!
  19. LOVE your grey's name, Bella is my daughter's name, too!
  20. I've read that it's not a good idea to let the bird land on your head, and some people don't even like to let them perch on their shoulders. I do let my Dodo (I know, stupid name for a marvelous bird, blame the hubby and kiddos on that one!) on my shoulder, but not my head. Don't want to give her too much control.
  21. I just got my subscription started to Bird Talk, too....I'll have to look for your little superstar! Congrats, that's way too cool!B)
  22. I did read somewhere that when greys were first brought over from Africa, they weren't given any water in their cages. Hard to believe that they thought any creature could live without water!
  23. I'm glad I'm not the only one that doesn't see them drinking. It really had me worried!
  24. I've had my grey for 7 months now, and I never, ever see her drink any water on her own. We hand feed it to her sometimes because I'm afraid she'll dehydrate! Why don't I see her drinking water?
