  1. Thanks so much guys, I know I'll be back on my feet soon enough with all your support! I am feeling better, slowly. I really don't remember a time I was so sick - I'm glad I'm over the "hump" and am on my way to recovery! Darwin seems to be doing better too, she only came up to my room twice today - probably because my mum set up her movable office in the family room to keep her company. Lol is she spoiled or what? :laugh: Thanks a lot for all your kind words! The forum is indeed keeping me company.
  2. Hello, I hope everyone is well. A few days ago I fell very ill with the flu, it could be H1N1, they don't know for sure yet. I've had a really high fever among all the normal flu symptoms - but my gosh, I've never had such symptoms with such severity! Anyway, I'm slowly getting better with each day, it's just taking an awfully long time. The worst thing isn't even that I'm sick - it's that I've had to stay away from Darwin! I called my vet and told her what was going on and she highly recommended that I stay away from her. My mum will bring her downstairs to hang around on her tree and in the family room - but she keeps coming upstairs to see me. My mum then has to come and get her and take her away. And even if I close my door, she comes to the door and sits outside it, saying "Peeboooo" and "Hi Darwin" in a very sad little voice. It is really tearing me up! She spends upwards of 5 hours a day with me, and while she's very good with my mum it's clear she'd rather be where I am. I don't know how much longer I can hold out on this! Thanks for listening, it's really just driving me crazy! (PS sorry this should probably be in a different room....:blush: ) <br><br>Post edited by: cf737, at: 2009/11/14 23:02
  3. What a neat bird bridge! I also think Darwin would just love it! Thanks for that!
  4. Darwin does this as well! What I find most entertaining is that she does 5 at a time, every time. I've been very ill with the flu for the past 4 days and have really had an opportunity to watch her activity in her cage. She always fills her beak up with pellets, one by one, and seems to count 1,2,3,4,5...then she steps onto her perch, onto her water dish and drops all 5 in. She then sits there for a minute, looking around and making noises, then goes fishing for the pellets! :lol: :huh:
  5. That is fortunate! Emma is such a sweetheart, and so acrobatic! Always a pleasure to watch.
  6. Oh that is too bad, Darwin LOVES beak appetite. She has it for supper once a week and gets so excited when it's Tuesday lol. I will have to stock up! Thanks for the link!
  7. Oh my goodness aren't they just the cutest things you have ever seen? We have 4 little TAG's at my work right now and they all cuddle up to sleep and I could just sit and watch them all day they are so cute. You are bound to have a lifetime of fun with your two little greys. As others have said - they are a source of comfort for each other in this strange new environment! Enjoy, and more pictures please!
  8. I'm with Jill - I'd love to hear how little Coco is doing....
  9. I just love Caiques, I'd love to see a few photos of your little lady. The caiques I've seen and care for are very, very funny and very goofy - perhaps this will help in choosing a name! I have a "special needs" lovebird, Luna, who hatched July 1. She AMAZES me every single day at her strength. One of her legs sticks out to the side almost straight, so she can't perch on flat perches and has trouble climbing. Her beak is also not aligned properly. However she is an absolute doll and is so courageous. I make circular perches for her and she has adapted to sitting on them, way high up in her cage, and looks out the window. Your little caique will be just that much more special knowing that she is unique.

    free fly time

    I agree with Judy, I would really enjoy seeing a few photos of Marvin and Molly.
  11. Congratulations on your baby mimicking your dog! What a funny sound that must be. It's always so thrilling when they start to mimic things! There's no stopping you now, Houdini!
  12. Woohoo little Sadie! It won't be long now until she is telling you the dictionary! Congratulations, what a proud moment it must be having watched Sadie from a hatchling all the way until she's spoken. And what a lovely first phrase - "I love you". Such a touching thing for a pet to say! Well done Sadie!
  13. I am so happy for you Dee! What a little cutie Juno is and have I mentioned I love his name! He is so sweet and what fantastic breeders you have. As always...we'd all love to see more pictures! And please keep us posted on how the next few days go! {Feel-good-00020114}
  14. WOOHOO! Little Juno has no idea the loving home he's about to go to! You must be so excited knowing your little one is so close! I am thrilled for you and we are all anxiously awaiting those pictures and to hear about how your life has changed for the better!
  15. OH my Dee it is SO soon. How thrilled are you! I'm getting impatient listening to all this lol. I can't wait to see some pictures and hear all about it! You are so close! :woohoo:
  16. Spock and Darwin really need to hang out. Darwin LOVES all of the Beak Appetit food. I usually make a batch and separate it into ice cube trays and freeze them. Then I microwave them for her for supper! So far her favourite is the alfredo one. Very cute pictures!
  17. What a fun day that must have been. I bet Harvey just loved the beach. And also Jill - I don't think it's common anywhere to be walking around with a parrot on your shoulder!!!!:blink: :laugh:
  18. Looking forward to hearing all about little Ozzy's homecoming. He sounds like a real sweetie!
  19. :)I am so very excited for you. What a day it will be!
  20. Nice pumpkin Cait, and Ecko is so cute. Happy Halloween!
  21. I read an article about this actually. Apparently it took them years to get the red factor greys to produce an all red one. SO bizarre. Talk about playing with nature.
  22. Thanks guys! I know she isn't the best talker or anything but I think she's hilarious and is doing pretty well for 10 months! And I do love her girly voice lol. So much personality.
  23. Hello! Some of you may have heard about Darwin's encounter with the newest word - "Peekaboo". However, she seems to be missing a syllable.... It's not the most exciting video, and sorry it's kind of dark - but she says her "Peeboo!" quite a few times throughout. I hope you enjoy it! I have quite a few videos of her, and can post them if you want to see them! Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HJNxEertpno
  24. Well let's see: Darwin (TAG) - 10 and a half months Sprite (parrotlet) - 2 years Luna (lovebird) - 4 months
  25. Oh my goodness you guys we all need to get together and hear the sounds of the wild lol. Darwin does a really good duck. So what do we have now? A chicken, a crow, a cardinal, a seagull, a rooster and a duck! {Feel-good-0002006E}
