Happy hatchday Smokey!!

Well he is a very calm baby. He is so sweet and so loving. He makes the cutest noises and tries to whistle so bad. He randomly gets really hyper and starts chasing his toy or growling at a pellet. He sometimes moves his foot as if he is digging for something. He is very curious and he loves to climb his cage. Now he loves to perch and preen. Thanks for the replies, I like all the names you guys suggested but still haven't decided on one. {Emotions-000200C1}

OMG mine poops soooo much too! But he is also a good boy and won't poop on anyone, he waits to be put back in his cage! He likes to poop when I put down new paper too. haha:P

My baby also sleeps at the bottom of the cage too but he sleeps completely flat on the bottom. It looks like he is laying on his stomach with his head on the ground too. I think its so funny looking. Oh no I am sorry to hear that Chimay is becoming a one person bird. This is something that I am really worried about with my baby too. Dave gave great advice so I am going to make sure my boyfriend and I do what he says. My boyfriend sounds like yours, he is super excited about our grey and loves him so much but he is also worried the baby is going to like me more because I can spend more time with him. My boyfriend works a schedule almost like yours and he comes home when the baby is already sleeping so he doesn't get to play with him night. So far the baby will go to anyone and is very loving but I know its because he is really young. So who knows when he gets a couple more weeks older. I hope Chimay becomes better with your boyfriend. Please keep us posted on his progress.

My boyfriend and I are stuck on names and we can't agree on anything. Can you guys help me find a name for my baby? It is most likely a boy so I need boy or unisex names. I didn't think naming our baby would be this hard but we have been searching for the right name for weeks now. This sweet little guy needs a name. Update on my baby: He is doing so good. Today is the 4th day we had him and he seems use to us already. He is so sweet and loves to check everything out. He perches all the time now and has become quite good at it. He climbs the cage and has finally learned how to climb back down. Lol he kept getting stuck. He is a good eater and loves to pick up all the colorful foods and taste them, he really likes apples, squash, and peppers. Wednesday is his first vet check up with an Avian Vet that I found near me and I'm excited to meet him. My mom plucked some of his feathers out so we could DNA him and I already sent it away in the mail on Monday so hopefully by Friday I know his true sex. And then I can name him!

Awwww Carol he is so precious!! I hope its a boy so he can be all yours!! Im so excited for you :)

Ok now you guys have me scared! I am definately going to bring him to my moms house for a couple days when they spray. I'm glad we are going to the vet on Wednesday so I can get more info on this topic.

Yes those are baby noises. Aren't they so cute? lol My baby makes the same noises and everytime I talk to him he gets louder and makes more noise. I think its the cutest sounds ever. If your baby is eating her pellets and fruits and veggies etc. then she shouldn't be hungry, its just something she is use to doing. You should weigh her everyday to make sure she is gaining weight and eating enough. Did your breeder tell you that she is fully weaned? They usually wean 12-16 weeks so yours must have weaned fast. Just make sure she is eating alot.

There is a bug guy that comes and sprays my apartment every month and its mandatory that our complex gets sprayed for bugs. I was just wondering if this is going to be bad for my grey? Can my baby get sick from the spray they use? It's an odorless spray but I still worry. Please help calm my worries. lol Thanks!

Haha wow Ziva sure has some attitude. lol Maybe if you put the stick flat onto something, like lay it on top of the cage so she can step up or have something underneath to support it so it doesn't move when she steps on. Your lucky you can even get the stick near her, my moms grey FREAKS OUT when he sees a stick coming near him.
