Ok Another question My son found a web site for parrotlets that says Parrots can have gourds to play with. Does anyone know anything about that. Not that you can't tell by my gourdlady247 screen name. Gourds are my thing. I paint gourds and make wild bird birdhouses out of them. This is my stay at home and make money job. I sell them. well they do offer a money back thing. So masy they will send back my husbands hard earned money. LOL Not holding my breath. I really wanted their videos and audios to work. But I have no luck with them and I do have the time to put in to the videos and George. I just want to get to where he doesn't bite anymore. I'd be happy just to get to that point. But we are only three months in to this relationship. But I can't help to worry that I'm doing the right things for him.

Yeah I have one in his cage. I don't know why she would want to trim it? He cleans and rubs his beak on all his perchs all the time.

I'm a lucky one. I don't work thanks to my husband. When I first got the videos I followed it to a T. But I still can't get George to step up. If I put a stick in his cage he heads as far away as he can possible get, and has fallen trying to get away from it. Our problem is that we can't get him out of his cage. To be able to work with him. So I just continue to be paitent and stuff. I work with george alot everyday. Somedays I see improvement, and others I don't. I don't know if what I'm doing is right good or indifferent. He has always taken treats from me and will come anywhere in the cage that i'm standing next to. So I know he wants the attention.

Yeah, that's for sure. I was stressing the other night about not being able to find them so I could watch and listen to them again. But now I don't care where they are LOL. I think my grandkids may have played with them.

oh, see I thought trimming the beak was to make it not as sharp.

I spend alot of time researching things about greys and I always come back to here to make sure what I read isn't BS. But I'll admit i ordered the CD's before I found this site.

The lady we got George from called and wants to know if I want her to come by and trim his beak. Should this be done? She came by a couple weeks after we got him and trimmed his wings, I was ok with that but I don't know anything about his beak or what the purpose of donig this is. Need advice. Thanks Marla

See i knew I could count on you guys, before I spent more money on those CD/Audio cd's. I had recived another email (about 3 aday) that was for fixing bad behavior problems. But I think I'll pass on it and just keep getting advice from here. Which seem to be more helpful and FREE. Thanks everyone Marla

I got them right after we got Goerge. It sounded like what i needed. But for me nothing has worked. I have target trained him just by tapping my finger nail on the cage where ever I want him to go. But still to this day can't get george to step up on a perch stick for nothing. I come at him with it below him and he climbs as faw away as he can get until I put it down then he will come back to me. But one day. All you guys will know when he does cause I'm gonna squeal like a pig. I won't need the internet everone will hear me fine. LOL

I hope so. It's just so hard to not be able to have the contact that i want YET. I'm sure it will come, I just have to dig deeper in my paitence bag. LOL

Thanks for the encouragement. Have you ever had one of your birds or heard of one to just stop talking. He used to talk his head off. He would ask What's Your Problem, and Cracker Please,and Hello and other things we couldn't understand. But now he just beeps and clicks and Knocks and makes cute little noises, but I miss him talking. Like I said it's been weeks since he has said anything.

I'm worried George hasn't said a word in weeks. I don't know what could be wrong now. Nothing has changed in the house except for all the company we had is gone. Now he beeps and mimics sounds he hears on the t.v. But none of his normal words he used to say. What should I do now? I am so confussed at whats going on with George. we still can't get him to step up, he still bites and lunges. But he did give himself a bath yesterday. I caught him in his water bowl and was throwing it everywhere. It was cute to watch. And he has started to going to the bottom of his cage by himself,with out me coaxing him down. But he still doesn't play with his toys. He has toys in his cage that he has never touched. He will play with them if i set on the floor in front of the cage and play with them with him. Like rolling the ball around he will attack it and try to stand on it then it rolls out from under him and he rolls with it. He seems to enjoy it. Anymore advice would be greatly appreciated. I love George so much and want to just to be able to make him as happy as I can. But I'm afraid I'm loosing ground with him. Thanks Marla

has anyone ever heard of Chet and Dave Womack? I have one of his Taming Training and Tricks Cd and audios. But I'm not having much success with it. I think mainly it's because I haven't had a real chance to put it to good use. But he also has an audio collection on how to work with birds with behavioral problems. I wanted you guys input on this if you have ever heard of him or if you have used his info. Thanks Marla

I don't know George has pretty much stopped talking. At first he would talk our ears off but now he just mimics the phone or does this whistle thing he does. He used to ask us whats your problem on a regular basis.

I know about the not breathing part. It seems like I get one hour out of the day judst before sundown I can breathe through both nosterals. Then someome puts the plugs back in. LOL

thanks for the link. The way i feel I would have to die to feel better. I get to colds a year one in the Summer and the other at the begining of winter.

well we had the AC on here in East Texas today it was in the 80's. I have a cold i've been fighting for a week now. Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.
