Fred is a very handsome grey. I believe you should keep Fred's cage in the room with the most daytime activity and where at night he can sleep comfortably. That sounds like your office. I have perches in the living room, dining and kitchen areas so that Ana Grey can be with me. I keep her travel cage in the living room so if for some reason I need to quickly pop her in for safety (knock on the door, strangers visiting) she or I are not inconvenienced. I keep the temperature in my house at a level which is comfortable for me. Congratulations on your new baby he will add great joy to your life. Welcome to the family.

Your grey is gorgeous. I'm glad he had a safe flight home and is settling in nicely. Can't wait to hear more about him once you two have a chance to get to know each other.

Hi Robert, when I picked up my baby grey two months ago, today is her 6 month birthday, the breeder told me to cuddle her and handle her because that was what she was use to having done. That my baby would need to know she belonged because she had just lost her siblings and what she was use to. So I cuddled and played with my baby, keeping in mind that she was a baby and also needed a lot of rest. I believe it is different when you bring a baby grey home, they are lost and lonely and need to find a new flock, that should be you and your family. My Ana Grey comes to me and pulls at my fingers if she wants a skritch on the head, she trusts me and I try not to break that trust. We are bonded. Ask your baby grey's breeder lots of questions about what your grey's schedule is. What he is fed and his eating,sleeping, etc. routine. Please let us know how things go when you get your new baby home. And pictures please!!

Hey David, I also have one of those nail filing perches and when I moved it up higher it has become Ana Grey's favorite place to sleep and to sit, when she isn't eating that is. I guess like people, they are all different in what they like/favor or don't like/favor!

I got my grey the end of November and from the very first have had a towel around for her to see. I keep one on the back of my desk chair where Ana Grey sits while I am typing. I also have always cuddled her with a towel, so she will get use to it and also because of the little "accidents" birds are prone to have. I also play peekaboo with a towel and cover her head during the game. A towel is such a part of her life from the very beginning that she is totally unafraid of one. I can cover her with a towel and she just works her way out. Sorry, I haven't try videos yet, but here are some pictures.
