  1. I chop my parrots veggies alot. I just mix the good and bad together and offer only them.
  2. My TAG, Ana Grey, is 5 and will be 6 in April. She has always been fearless thanks to her very loving breeder who made sure her babies before re-homing them were very social. My parrots like me best, of course, it probably is because I live alone (ha). Ana Grey however goes to others that come to visit. Have a pistachio and she is there. I do not let others touch my parrots. If one of my parrots goes to others, it is because the parrot has chosen to go to that person. I believe animals are the best judges of good character.
  3. I have three parrots, all different in the same room that come out of their cages at the same time. They do get along. I however have a red factor canary, male, that lives in my office as my timneh, Ana Grey, would eat him alive if she could get her beak on him. She is a true stalker. I watched my grandson's cat for a few days and the poor kitty stayed under the couch because Ana Grey would stalk him. My canary loves to come out of his cage and fly around my office and look out the window, he goes back in his cage when he is sleepy or hungry. This arrangement works for us.
  4. My parrots enjoy the top of their cages, I assume because they get a total view of the area. I do not have any more trouble getting them from there then anywhere else.
  5. Muse will get use to the playstand. I consider myself very lucky, my greys are not afraid of new things. Be patient all will calm down.
  6. Welcome to you and Breezy. My first grey is a Timneh, Ana Grey, she is the sweetest parrot in the world. Looking forward to learning more about Breezy and your BG macaw.
  7. RED BLUE PURPLEUNDERLINING UNDERLINING BOLD ITALIC Nothing Well some works but not while I am typing test TESTjjjjjjjjjjjuuuuuuuuuuuuiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii TEST
  8. Happy Hatchday Corky. So glad you always keep Ray in line.
  9. I'm not sure that it is anger as it is confusion. Your grey might just not understand what is happening. Why something (your being gone longer or not having time to play) is going on. I always talk to my parrots, let them know I am going to the store; that my daughter is coming over; that I am cleaning their room, etc. Try talking to your parrot maybe that will help.
  10. If my parrots shriek loudly and don't stop, I sing to them. The singing distracts them and the screaming stops. Birds/Parrots need to scream and shriek now and then, it is part of being a parrot. Sometimes they just need to know they are not alone.
  11. I have a self-cleaning oven and I clean my oven on a warm day in the Spring or Summer and make sure the birdies are all outside for the day. I air out the whole house before I bring them back in.
  12. Sterling Gris falls off of his perch in the dead of night. I am a light sleeper so it always scares the bejesus out of me. He always immediately climbs back up and I go back to sleep. A scene in the life of a grey.
  13. Thanks for the reminder. Toulouse is certainly lucky that parronts were home when this happened.
  14. All I know is that if I sit down to have a snack, open a bag of pistachios, etc. My parrots are all over me immediate so they have a sense of something.
  15. Thank you for sharing this beautiful legend with us.
  16. Awesome heroic act by Sam. Loved it and thank you for sharing. Sam is a wonderful companion and friend of Sally's.
  17. Must be some pretty good eats here!!!! Wonderful pictures!!
  18. My tag and cag like cold baths also. Thanks for the great snicker..... okay, big snorkel!!!! heh, heh, heh! Always fun the life of a grey parront!!!
  19. Have a great Thanksgiving everyone with family, friends and especially loved ones!!!!! Enjoy!!!
  20. I have a CAG that weighs in at 505 g, a Blue Front Amazon and a TAG. They all use this cage and I have had no problems. I have had my TAG for 5 years with her cage. The door locks well but I also have a key lock because I do not want anyone (person) to open the door but me.
  21. I have three of the first cages that my parrots travel in and use as overnight cages. Works great.
  22. My parrots are all microchipped, if they escape and someone takes them to a vet, I will be contacted or HomeAgain will be contacted and they will contact me. It is against the law to keep a microchipped animal and not try to find the owner.
  23. I use Facebook. I have a granddaughter in Australia, a granddaughter and daughter in California, a brother in Georgia, a grandson in Oregon, and a grandson in Vancouver, going to school and working, etc. I find it very helpful to see what they are up to and see recent pictures of them having fun. If you use Facebook right, it is very helpful and useful. I only "friend" those I want to be in contact with. My list in very small. You only have to be in contact with those you choose.
  24. Cockatoos were my first love as parrots. If one needs a home, I will be here for it, but I will not go out looking for one..... I hope.
  25. When my Tag was young she slept in a tent. Now the tent is under the cage, just in case I need it for someone some day.
