Well, I believe that you being on jury duty is affecting you in ways that Gracie can already see and feel. Relax and enjoy this new experience. Remember Gracie can read you like a book. So if you are calm so will she be.

They should try the ignore and conquer ploy. How about one of them eating a favorite treat of Luna's in front of him and making "yummy" sounds and ignoring Luna. Walking away and sitting near where Luna could go if he wanted. See if that helps. Make Luna become the seeker not the sought.

I only clean my self-cleaning oven when I can take the parrots outside for a few hours. Why take the chance of harming them. You could always take them for a day-long drive while the oven is cleaning.

I have come to believe that my three are different than anyone else's parrots. They have their own "pecking" order. Ana Grey, TAG, is first always. First to come get food, out of her cage, and first into her cag; first for everything. My CAG, Sterling Gris is second in the these things. Louie, the ZON, is always last, last to come get food, last into his cage. He is the guard and protector. Always last always; the watcher. They do not fight; they know where they belong by their choice not mine. Ana Grey always eats or takes some and then leaves that's when Sterling comes in and when he leaves, Louie is next if he wants.

My TAG, Ana Grey is 6. She weighed 280, then 290 and now is about 300 grams. She is healthy and active and eats great. She is a little lady and has always been a petite gal. She is also flighted.

I believe a visit to an avian vet is in store.

Welcome to you and Archie. Thank you for taking on a needy grey. Do you have toys for Archie. My greys love bells and perching at the windows of my home were they can see out. Chewing on wooden toys is also a great hit with my gang.

I live alone and my home is very quiet. When people visit I keep my parrots caged. I never let none relatives or visitors near my parrots. Louie, my zon, is a re-home and likes guys not girls. His original owner was a man who was ill. My zon is very cautious and watchful.
