  1. Greycie looked very patient with the scene stealing Toby. Great laugh.
  2. I do love the avatar by the way! Don't know a thing about snakes but now if you have a tortoise...............
  3. You are missed here! The flock looks great! Stories of their adventures and antics would be appreciated!!!!! hint, hint!
  4. I had an older male Eclectus for a about a 1 1/2 years. He was a great gentleman but my TAG hated him and would dive bomb him whenever he came out of his cage. He was terrified and would hide under my bed. I give Sully away cage and all. He is loved and happy next door with a son and mother who take him everywhere. He came over to visit one day and my TAG, flew at him and chased him behind my tv. Needless to say his owner took him home and Sully has never returned again during the day. He did come over one night when my TAG was in her cage and mother, son and I were playing cards. Sully walked down his owner's arm over to me and up onto my shoulder give me a beak to the cheek and walked back to his owner. I knew it was a good bye and thank you kiss from my old friend, Sully. Only you Aerial can decide what is best for your family and flock. If the right parrot comes along to join your family, you will not hesitate.
  5. Well done. Looks great and better yet, Jake likes it! Great picture.
  6. My greys always land on their perches and boings. They do sit on top of my cabinets in the kitchen but, thankfully they do not chew. Sterling Gris, cag, does like to sit in my plants and chew them so I have to watch him. My zon, Louie, likes to sit on my living room window frame but he is not a chewer. He likes to sit on my window perches and boings also. I guess I am just lucky.
  7. I am single but am not looking for a guy. If I were, I would tell a guy about my parrots and if he did not call me again, I would think myself lucky to have dodged the "bullet". Don't worry about what a guy will think. When he comes to pick you up for your first date, introduce him to your parrot(s) and see how he reacts. Enjoy the date and see if you and he are still interested in each other. If people care about each other, the family, pets etc. are just the trimming. Enjoy your freedom and meeting new people. With the right person things fall into place on their own. Enjoy! "We can judge the heart of a man by his treatment of animals." Emmanuel Kant
  8. I do not have any problems with my greys being higher or lower than me. They will still step up whether they are higher up or lower.
  9. I have a self-cleaning oven and it admits an odor strong enough that I can smell it. So I assume my parrots could also smell it. They are outside when I clean the oven.
  10. An looking for designs too. I want to build a outdoor cage off of my birdroom so they can go in and out as they want during the day.
  11. Great imagination and wonderful post!
  12. This is heartbreaking news. I so loved the shared pictures.
  13. So where are the pictures??????????? Huh huh huh
  14. Congratulations. How about: Oliver aka "Ollie"
  15. What playing. I would be too busy cleaning that huge house to have time to play let alone any energy!!!!
  16. Great pictures of your little lady. Would love to hear more!!!!!!
  17. You are both testing each other and it sounds like you won that round. Good job.... until the next time. (smile)
  18. Common sense; trash the package of goods.
  19. I remember the BF and daughter or GF and son days. I preferred them in my house and the noise. Noises meant no hanky, panky!!!!
  20. Oh I a so jealous. I so want a Lilac Amazon. I can not wait to learn more about her. She is gorgeous. Just gorgeous!
  21. Frankly, that's not so bad. Try living with one that makes the fire alarm sound in the dead of night or the "beeping" of a dying fire alarm while you are sleeping. Tells the dog to "Go potty. Go potty Lily. Good girl." a few times a day. Or goes to the back door and barks to be let out. Asks to be let out of his cages several times a day. "Open the door, I want to come out. Hello, open the doooooooor." Or says "Feed me feed me". Enjoy, life is never dull with a grey or two in your home. They do learn some good things to: "Hello gorgeous". Sings: Happy Birthday, You are my Sunshine, or Give me a little kiss will you hon, Give me a little kiss honeybun.
  22. Oh I forgot the noise level. There is none in my home. All three of my parrots are talkers and singers but not much screaming. My zon is probably the quietest of the three. He speaks Hindu also which I do not understand but his prior owner was from India.
  23. Hi Blf3greys. All parrots are different. I have a TAG, a CAG and ZON. My greys are very different. Ana Grey, tag, is fearless and the boss. She is always first. She is unafraid and very friendly with everyone. She expects to share your food. My cag, Sterling Gris, is very cautious and only trusts me. Now my zon, Louie, is a re-home. He was 1 1/2 when I got him and not treated kindly by the women in his home. Louie, tries very hard to do as I ask. Although I can't touch him he comes to me and goes in and out of his cage as I ask. He follows me from room to room and always is last. Last to come for treats, last in his cage. He is the guard and he is very sweet. I can't touch him but he can touch me. He loves to preen my hair. If I had to choose, grey or zon. I would not, I could not. Their personalities are different and they are all precious.
