  1. All I will say is that I don't let my grandchildren, except the ones over 13 years of age alone with my grey. Ana Grey is a sweet and quiet grey but her beak could do a lot of damage if she chose to use it. I have let my 9 year old grandson hold her on his arm (no fingers) but not on the shoulder (too close to the eyes and ears) and never without me right next to him. Why, because any little spook could scare Ana Grey and she might grab on with her beak and claws and children's flesh is very soft. I wouldn't want they to fear being close to birds because of an accident. And my children would never forgive me (nor could I forgive myself) if their children were scarred for life because of my fids. This, of course, is only my personal opinion.
  2. I've been watching the cam also! It's great. I am so excited about getting to watch this clutch's progress!
  3. Oh what sweet pictures of Argyle. He is so cute. So glad that he is getting so much more comfortable around you. You are a great parront!
  4. Congratulations Bernie on getting your boat up and running. What is your boat's name by the way??? Can't wait to see the video next weekend. I am excited for you!
  5. You wake up Saturday morning all fresh and rested, ready to start the Saturday weekly clothes washing. Oh heavens no!!!! Your washing machine is broken, Drat!!!! But wait all of a sudden you are elated because now you don't have to fold and put away the laundry and an added bonus, you don't have to wash it either!!!!! I wish all my meals were excellently prepared and catered in from a 1st class restaurant?
  6. Thanks everyone. Yes, Ana Grey does love that wheel and is always pulling it down. I've had to repair it several times. Had to put a bolt through it because the plastic post was broken. If she were a human, I would classify her as a "tomboy"! Cassandra, Darwin and Ana Grey look a lot alike. After a visit, we would have to have Ana Grey scanned (she has a mircochip) so we'd be assured we had the right greys!!!!
  7. Would love to hear more about your grey scar231068.
  8. The times Ana Grey has seen herself in the mirror have not be memorable. I don't think she cares one way or the other about that "other bird".
  9. I bought Ana Grey a pomegranate or two when I first got her back in November. But they are too messy for me and too expensive. She loves pine nuts much more so those she gets plenty of!
  10. I finally figured out how to use the video on my camera!!! At least I hope I have! So here goes:
  11. Jay and Maggie, thanks for your concern. Sully is already afraid of sticks coming at him so this is the best solution for now as I don't use a stick to normally step him up. I use my arm. All he has to do is see a stick and he immediately moves away from his food/water bowls. It breaks my heart that someone must have hit him with a stick. For now, as long has he can see me across the hall he is fine and calm. I just can't go near him except when necessary.
  12. That's why I just love caller ID. Don't have to talk to anyone I don't want to. I hope the proper authorities get this all sorted out for you all in England!
  13. You wait up on a sunny Sunday morning and to your amazement all your furniture and furnishing are now bird beak proof! You are ecstatic until you go to sit down on the couch with a piping hot cup of coffee and find out the couch is hard and uncomfortable because it is made of stainless steel. Everything in your house is made of stainless steel! It is all cold, hard and unyielding! I wish I had a job were I get to visit every country in the world, 1st class all the way!
  14. Great picture of Blue! He does look a little pissed as if to say,"Did you ask my permission to photograph me, little lady?" Blue looks fantastic in the video, for an old man that is!!!!!
  15. Thanks for sharing Sachi's case with us Adina. Sachi will love it. It's beautiful!
  16. My Ana Grey is a quiet bird, as long as she knows where I am. She never makes a sound until she hears me in the morning and then she calls to me (about a 2) until I acknowledge her. I always tell her I'll be back when I leave the room and she is quiet. She does like to be in the same room as me and will follow me if I am gone too long. I believe it has a lot to do with the household. I live alone so things are quiet and not busy and I have all the time in the world to devote to my companions. If your household is large and boisterous then so will a grey be to "compete" with the other members of the flock. That's just my personal opinion. That being said Ana Grey came to me at 4 months old and I am her only owner. Now my Ekkie is over 10 years old and has been re-homed several times. He is a screamer (at 10+)!
  17. Sully seems to be doing well with his peace and solitude. So if he is okay so am I! Can't wait until my old friend is back!
  18. I watched the show and it was great. Thanks for posting this video Dan!
  19. I agree our fids and most pets can sense our moods and feelings. Hope you are feeling better soon Caroline.
