1. My birds are always in a carrier. They are never "free" outside of my home. They could distract the driver and cause an accident.
2. I always have frozen margaritas in a bucket in the freezer. Just buy a pre-mixed bucket with triple sec and lime at the liquor store, add your own tequila and freeze in the freezer. Dip your glass rim with salt and yum, yum ready to go. Come on over, I'll be glad to share!
3. That's so funny Steve the relationship you have with Misty. But if it works for you then that's all that really matters. I wish I could trust my Ana Grey to stay out of trouble but I know I can't, she's too inquisitive and fearless.
4. What fruits and vegetables are you feeding your grey. Fruits especially have a lot of water and therefore the poop would be more runny.
5. Are part-time band leaders semi-conductors?
6. Congratulations to Earl on his first successful flight! If you have any pictures to share of Earl, we would love to see them!
7. Thank you for sharing this culprit with us Beth. I don't have any like that, thank goodness. Best wishes to sweet Nikki!
8. Gee no one has posted here for awhile so I thought I would. I'm planning my weekend. Must go get my flu shots tomorrow. Not looking forward to that, thank you very much! But the good thing is, it is the weekend and all the family in the Portland/Vancouver/Washougal area are coming over for Sunday dinner. Oh it isn't to see grandma no way. Little Johnny Jr. is coming over and everyone wants to see the newest and youngest member of the family! All my male grandsons (5 of them) will be here for dinner along with their parents. Yes my son and oldest daughter all have sons and my granddaughters are California girls and can't be here. I am all excited and just can't wait to take lots of pictures!!!
9. Thank goodness both you and your husband were home. How very scary. I'm glad all is well now. If you have any pictures of the rings it might help the rest of us to avoid them. Hugs to Nikki!
10. You're right, Adina! Great video. Buckley is very funny to watch!
11. Great suggestion from Charlotte's breeder. The change to softer perches sounds like a winner. Can't wait to hear if it helps.
12. Oh yes if Ana Grey where fully flighted she would be a Holy Terror. She is now with her pestering of poor old Sully. But she is not flighted and she is fearless so I must watch over her. But once she is flighted it will be Sully who I will have to protect!!!
13. Pat Hip, hip hooray for Tyco!!!! I am so very happy for Tyco! Tyco can fly, you have every right to be so very proud of your sweet little lady!! Congrats Pat!!

100 miles an hour How many birds are mentioned in the "Twelve Days of Christmas"?
15. I don't let my fids sit too close together. As I said Ana Grey (1) wants to touch Sully (10) with her beak and Sully tries to bite her. He is much bigger and older than her. I watch them constantly when they are out together. I never leave them alone outside of their cages. I never let Ana Grey walk on Sully's cage as he would nip her toes if he got the chance. I understand that you should feed and acknowledge Phoenix first because he was there first (hierarchy) so he won't be jealous. With Ana Grey and Sully I don't do that as Ana Grey doesn't care and Sully is so much older he usually comes first.

Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2009/09/26 02:38
16. I hope that the medicine the vet was able to give you helps sweet Rishi. I will pray that he is comfortable and all goes well for him.
17. What a cool looking toy. Do you have the company's name? Perhaps they have a website.
18. Ana Grey was sexed via feather method. It was about $25 at www.avianbiotech.com.
19. Glad you were home when this happened and that Biscotti is fine.
20. I acquired my year old grey when she was four months old in November 2008. In April, 2009, I re-homed a 10 year old Eclectus. My grey is easy going and would go up to the ekkie. He is not so loving and I have to keep a close eye on them. I am still working on Sully, the ekkie, tolerating my sweet grey.
21. I feed Pretty Bird Species Specific for African Greys to my grey. It is what her breeder started her on and what she loves to eat. I got some samples of Harrison for her and she turned her nose up at them. As Judy says finish up the Pretty Bird and if you want to try another brand switch over then. I believe there is a thread on where to get free samples of different brands of bird pellets/foods in the Bird Food Forum Room.
22. Great story!!!! Great laugh!!!!
23. Muru is quite handsome for an "older" guy! He has splashes of red in his tail like my Ana Grey. I'm very glad you health situation is okay and so glad you and Muru have come back to us! So welcome home. I can't wait to hear more about Muru!
24. Sounds like Charlotte gets a lot of good food, attention and love. Perhaps a visit to another avian vet even if it is a 2 hour drive is in order to easy your mind. If you have some pictures of Charlotte, we could take a look. I'm glad you decided to join us and hope to hear more about Charlotte. Welcome to the Grey family.
25. You continue to bad mouth your bi...y law student sister and barely acknowledge her passing the bar exam and becoming an A1 attorney. You get absolutely rip roaring drunk every night because you can't seem to pass a bar (aka tavern) You get picked up for not paying your bar (aka tavern) bill and thrown into jail. With your one phone call who do you call???? You guessed it and she just says "you've got the wrong number" and hangs up ... I wish I could meet members of the Grey Forum in person.
