Marguerite, it certainly is nice to hear from you. You have been missed. Sounds like Dorian has blended very nicely into your home and certainly is an independent grey. Hope you are feeling better and that we will hear from you more often. You know how we love pictures, so if you get a chance, we would love to see Dorian!

I'm sorry for your loss of Joey, TaMarah. It would certainly help if you could tell us what happened. It's always easier if you talk about things that cause pain. I wish you peace of mind and you should take comfort knowing Joey is now free.

I didn't meet my grey until I picked her up. She came right to me and hung on the front of her cage all the way home. Chirping up a storm. They are all different. It's great that by the end of your visit your new baby was more comfortable with you. By the time you bring him home he will know you well. If you get a chance to take some pictures, we would love to see them!

Thanks everyone. Ana Grey is all ready jumping off of things and "flying" from here to there. A jump from the window perch flapping her heart out to the floor 6 feet! Or to the couch! She is trying so very hard.

I clean my fids' cages every evening with vinegar and water. I change the paper, wash the grate, etc. I'm retired to I have the time to do this.

After all the action in this video: Ana Grey lost two clipped flight feathers!!!! That's a total of 4 clipped feathers so far!!!! Two more on each side!! I can't wait for them to all be replaced!!!!

Hi harmar, which african grey, CAG or TAG, is debatable. I prefer TAGs but we have members who have both and this debate has yet to be decided. If you ask me why I chose the TAG it's because they are smaller than a CAG and I love small things. They are both beautiful creatures. Please do read all about what a takes to care for a parrot. They are intelligent creatures and need much more care than a parakeet or canary. They need more space and much more cleaning up after along with loads of out of the cage time. So please do your reading before you make up your mind. They are a commitment, just like a child.

I leave pellets and water in my grey's cage at all time and offer vegetables and fruit (more vegetables than fruit) during the am and pm. I save the nuts and seeds for out of cage time and have foraging containers all over the house for my grey.
