What a wonderful thing you are doing to help others find their lost companions. I hope you will be blessed by finding your sweet Athena soon. If you need to help heal your heart by getting another fid then by all means do so. I think it is the greatest honor to remember a loved one by filling your heart with love for another. I pray Athena is safe.

Hear, hear about the book Dr. Flock!!! I always read Dave's posts, he is a man of many faces and many moods because he is so passionate about our greys, honestly all feathered creatures. However, I do question his sense of humor... sometimes!!!! :blink: :ohmy:

My grey doesn't fly but is getting new flight feathers. I perch her on my hand and give it a gentle wave up and down so she can "catch wind" in her feathers. My grey takes "flight" briefly and gets to short distances. Always making sure she will have a soft landing. So we practice together. She seems to enjoy this. My grey just uses her perches to clean her beak. I have never noticed her afraid when I come home. She just calls to me when she hears I am back in the house.

I heard how others' greys liked chicken bones so I have gave a chicken leg or two to Ana Grey and she has just ignored them. She does like chicken meat though. Prefers white meat!!
