Hi Mark, congratulations on deciding to be owned by a grey. I'm sure as Dan has said some of our UK members will be along to give you some suggestions for breeders. Welcome to the Grey Family!
Well, if you would like a couple of suggestions, how about Irene or Lydia. I think you will find that the right name will just come to you, give it time.
I have a boing hanging in the kitchen dining area, away from the cooking. Ana Grey likes to sit there and see what's going on in the kitchen. It is also a convenient place for her to be when I am eating as she is away from the food. I have foraging toys attached to the boing for her snacking pleasure. Placing newspaper under the boing makes it easy to clean up; just pick up the newspaper and toss it!
Hi kat3k welcome to the family!!! As others have already said, having a grey is not a requirement for hanging around here. I look forward to hearing about your Quaker and Senegal and seeing some pictures.
To be on the safe side, if you can't take your grey to an avian vet, please call one and ask if there should be any concern. Please let us know the outcome as we all worry and love our own and each others greys.
They are both sweeties. When you go visit them, you should let the baby pick you. It is so amazing when your grey picks you. I had the choice of 4 and my Ana Grey picked me, I have never regretted letting it just happen.
 I tried that with my Ana Grey but she is too smart. I take a bite and go mmmmmm and she fakes a bite (opens her mouth goes in for the bite and quickly turns her head) and almost smacks her beak. But she's not fooling me!!!
Bernie, why the evil smiley as your Avatar. Take it from one of your Babes, it's not you!!!

Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2010/01/15 21:23
My Ana Grey, is 17-months old. When I first got her at 4 months old, she loved to sleep in her tent that first winter. When it because warmer, she stopped using it. Now that she is older, she seldom goes in it. So I guess it would depend of the grey, they are all different. Some like tents some don't. It would be your grey's personal choice.
I spy with with my little eye B kicking T while B shrieks from her cage and E scolds the bloke.

Post edited by: luvparrots, at: 2010/01/15 03:26
Our local pet store gets birds and other animals left on their doorstep all the time. I guess they (former owners) believe that is the better place for them than the humane society or just left abandoned. The humane society also places exotic animals with them when they come in. I got my Sully because the local gas station called this pet store to come catch the loose eclectus, they sure didn't know how to get him to come down. So perhaps it is really a smart thing to do. Regardless of how or why Nemo is with Erika, I know Nemo's life is now much, much better, 10-fold!
Hi again Pat, I love the two pictures you have in your signature line. Chatot and Darius are both such gorgeous Big Guys!!!! Much too much bird for me but I sure to think they are beautiful and love to see and hear about them! So glad you are back!
