  1. Congrats Robin on finally getting the bath time with Dixie!!! Hooray!!
  2. So true Dan, Ana Grey has been molting for awhile, I can't wait for her to stop!!! Winter go a way!!!!
  3. #6 parronts with accompanying
  4. Thanks again Jay for another beautiful amazon to learn about!
  5. Judy, Sunny is totally gorgeous!!!! Wow what a beauty!!
  6. Dave is right, from day one Ana Grey tried to fly and would jump off her cage and land on the floor. She was always flapping her wings and trying to fly. Constantly testing her muscles and strengthening them. She always wanted to fly that's how headstrong she is. Dixie will fly, if she wants to. I stopped worrying about Ana Grey crashing after the first few times. She is a bird after all and they if anyone does, know how to land. I just let her do it. Watching her turn and hover is so beautiful and worth the long wait. I wish Dixie oodles of luck with her flying.
  7. I have a 17-month old female grey and a re-homed 10+ male ekkie. Ana Grey wants to be friends with Sully but Sully screams every time Ana Grey comes near him. When Sully is hormonal I have to watch Ana Grey like a hawk because if she goes near Sully him would nail her without batting an eye. As for the scratching Ana Grey does it when she wants out of her cage. She is out of her cage almost all day so I ignore it if I am busy.
  8. Paddy sounds like such a character! I can't wait to see a video of this little dancing fool! So happy you joined the forum and can't wait to hear more about your fids!!
  9. I think a lot of greys do this to get attention. My Ana Grey will nip at me if I ignore her and she wants me to scratch her. I tell her no bites and say, do you want a scratch? It has gotten so she now just lowers her head to let me know she wants a scratch. You and Rita need to find a happy medium a way to communicate with each other that you will both understand. I talk to Ana Grey all the time, our greys understand a lot more than we think.
  10. I remember how exciting it was for Ana Grey and me both when her clipped flight feathers began to molt out. I counted the remaining clipped feathers and just couldn't wait for them all to become new feathers. Congratulations Cindy, Chimay's time is almost here!!! Hooray!
  11. What will you be detecting Jill? If you need someone to find out why your grey is biting you, Call Jill?? :silly:
  12. Hi Martin, sound like your fids are real characters. How old is Paddy and is your home his second home? I look forward to hearing about Paddy in our Amazon Room and seeing some pictures if you have any to share. As for Rocky how old is he? I would love to see some of his dance routines. I truly believe you will enjoy the forum so welcome to the Grey Family!
  13. Your patience is winning the battle and Grumpy is coming along. Have you tried offer things to Grumpy open handed. I do that with my ornery ekkie so he won't nab me when he is hormonal, which lately is everyday. Karma to you for caring so much for Grumpy and working so patiently with him!
  14. That would certainly be a stretch. How did she do that??? :silly:
  15. I don't have an Amazon but I enjoy this room! I think Talon had a fantastic idea in starting it!!
  16. Mocha will be talking up a storm pretty soon, I cant' wait!!! Very interesting video!
  17. Spectacled Amazon: Also known as White-fronted Amazon. This is the smallest of the Amazon Parrots. It is said to make a good pet bird for both adults and children. Owners say it’s a fairly good talker and quieter than the larger Amazons. The female lacks the red edge on the wing.
  18. Sierra certainly made quick work of that foraging toy!!! What a clever little fid!!! I love the picture. So innocent and serene!
  19. The last act Ana Grey's breeder did for her/me was to pull a few pin feathers under her wings for the dna test. Ana Grey didn't let out a peep so I assume it was very painless. It is nice to know if your fid is male or female. Can't wait to hear the news!!
  20. Hi Jordan glad that you and Einstein have joined the Grey Family! Can't wait to see some pictures and hear more about your little flock!
  21. I have visited different grey websites over time, and tried one or two but they do not have the same atmosphere, the warmth and comradery that oozes through the seams of this wonderful Grey Forums!
