  1. A nursery school driver was delivering a van full of kids home one day when a fire truck zoomed past. Sitting in the front seat of the truck was a Dalmatian dog. The children started discussing the dog’s duties. ‘They use him to keep crowds back,’ said Tommy. ‘No,’ said Billy, ‘he’s just for good luck.’ Peter brought the argument to a close. ‘They use the dogs,’ he said firmly, ‘to find the fire hydrants….
  2. Well hi Khushi!!!! Ramsabi, I would love to see your tiels outside the nest if you have any to share!

  4. Hi Buffy glad you decided to join the Grey Family! There are oodles of threads in the different forum rooms to help you on your quest to become a great grey parront. If you have any questions, just ask. If you have any pictures of your grey we would love to see them. Oh by the way what is your grey's name?
  5. Karma to you for taking in an older grey. If I were you, I would just sit and talk to him so that he can get use to being part of your family. I would place his cage in a part of the house where he can see all the activity and become accustomed to your family. Talking and offering him a few nuts and pieces of apple might help to let him know you are his friend. I don't have any experience with abused birds but kindness goes a long way. Hopefully some of our more experienced bird owners, will chime in with more helpful advice.
  6. On that would have been a scream on video!!! I would love to have heard all that experimenting! Way to go Dayo!
  7. The cage is lovely! I wish I could afford one, or just had the room for one. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work with us!

A: Smallest bird: Male bee hummingbirds (mellisuga helenae), which live in Cuba, weigh 0.056 ounces and are 2.75 inches in length. The bill and tail account for half of this length. Q: What is the name of a bird's second stomach?

  22. Hi pattertwig, welcome to the Grey family. There are oodles of threads in the different forum rooms to help you with any questions you have. Or just ask! I think you will find we are a pretty friendly bunch of characters!
  23. You need to be consistent and not let her up on your head. Is she flighted? Baby greys do use their beaks like hands. If she is biting, tell her no and remove her. Greys are very smart and can learn what no means very quickly, you just need to be consistent.
  24. I don't allow Ana Grey on my shoulder and she has now pretty much given up the attempts to go there. I just shrug her off. She is flighted so she just flies to a perch. There are boings and hanging perches throughout the house so there is no need for her to be on my shoulder. I have taped newspaper over my computer screen top so she also likes to sit there. I guess the trick is to be consistent.
