My grey has times she is a fountain of words or phrases and some days she doesn't say a word. She likes to talk early in the morning, when the sun come up and I am a night person so I like to sleep in. Another time is after a thorough misting or bath she will jabber away. So I wouldn't worry it will come. Just like people our fids like quiet time too.

Jill will always be Jill. Now Jill you should have your 5-year-old niece tell you the story about "The Boy Who Cried Wolf." Someday all your joking around is going to kick you in the buttock. We all have to remember this old saying "fool me once shame on Jill, fool me twice shame on me" and take what Jill tells us with a grain of salt or we will all loose our sanity. Oh my goodness!!!! I frankly appreciate the fact that Ana Grey is "plain." One of my fears is that someone will accidentally "borrow" her. I have been trying to teach to her say, "I'm a pigeon" (so far no luck) I think it would be a great kick in the pants when people think about it later and realize pigeons don't talk!!! :laugh: :laugh: Jill are you getting Harvey a color or two????

Ana Grey prefers to eat outside her cage during the day. But I always put something fresh in her cage at night and she eats it. I don't worry because she always has fresh food in and out of her cage and I know she would never starve herself. I also weigh her regularly and she is always her 290 grams. So relax they eat when they are hungry.

I have mineral blocks in my fids' cage that are also untouched. With all good foods they get, I don't worry!

I love your grey's name! Whiskey is certainly a cutie. I had to smile when Whiskey, on cue said Hello, I loved it! I look forward to seeing more and hearing about your sweet grey.

You all know that Ana Grey was clipped when I got her and it took a year for her to be able to fly. The first time she jumped onto my laminated wood floors my heart stopped. She always wanted to fly and it became a daily occurrence that I learned to accept. When you think about it baby birds have been jumping out of nests for centuries onto the ground and seem to have all survived. Each time Ana Grey jumped she got stronger and better with her landings. So have a strong heart and remember when children learn to walk they fall on their bottoms a lot and all seem to survive!

Probably a little of both Lyn. I know they have great hearing and if Alfie is like my Ana Grey is always watching me, and knows my routine better than me.

I don't think trying to make your grey jealous is going to help. She might just get louder or attack the dog. Ana Grey will dive bomb my ekkie if she thinks he is getting more attention than her. She is lucky Sully is so laid back and basically ignores her as he is so much bigger and his beak so much larger than hers.
