  14. I find a spray bottle full of Aloe Vera juice or water works great. I sometimes take my fids outside in their wire travel cages and mist away getting them soaked. They enjoy the sunlight on their drying feathers and Ana Grey just chats away.
  15. Congratulations Professor!!! You are someone we can always count on if we have a problem with our greys or just with life. Thank you Dan for always being here for us!! Thank you for being you!!!
  16. Dee I am in awe of what a beautiful quilt this is going to be. Almost 100 pieces just for the center section, awesome! The way you explained each section sounds so right for Juno's memory. I love the quilt's name, Juno's Circle of Life, so appropriate and so right. Thank you for sharing this lovely memorial with us. I look forward to see each section has it comes into fruition.
  17. Emma is always a joy to listen to and watch. She is very talented and such a joy to hear. Thanks for sharing her with us Adina!
  18. Hi Malikah, welcome to you and Kito! My grey has just recently begun to fly after being clipped by her breeder. She is delighted to finally have her wings and so am I for her. I so love to watch her fly!!! From your Avatar it is easy to see that you did a great job of feeding and weaning Kito. I can't wait to hear more about her and see some more pictures! Welcome to the forum family!!
  19. I truly enjoy the weekly amazon profiles. The Red-Lored Amazon is a very beautiful little parrot. I love the little yellow cheeks! Thanks Jay!
  20. Great pet tales. I believe our pets are sensitive to us and know us all very well. Telepathy yes I believe it. I don't have any true stories like these but I do have one I will never forget. When my kids were under six, yes all three of them my youngest went out into the country road we lived on and our dog, Muffin, ran to the top of the little hill in the road in front of her and jumped up and down to make a car driving down the road stop for this "crazy" little dog. The driver had to stop and let me know what a great dog my kids had to protect them. (before anyone yells at me, my baby is 43 years old now, and this was a long, long, long time ago)
  21. Ouch Jill!!!! I have two wire travel cages for my fids. I just pop them into them and take them out in the sun. I can mist them and get them soaked and they can dry in the sunlight. Ana Grey and Sully both seen to love it and talk up a storm. Of course I'm sure Ana Grey will find her crow voice again and I'm not looking forward to that!!!
  22. I agree, put knotted ropes for your grey to climb up on. Before my grey could fly she was always jumping off of her cage so I hung knotted ropes from her cage, from her ceiling perches and boings and she was able to walk and then climb up. Ana Grey was clipped when I got her at about 4 months old and it took a year before her feathers grew in so she could fly. So be patient it will happen. The one nice thing is that she now flies to the boings and perches I have around the house for her and she is not interested in my woodwork or cabinets. She already has her designated landing places.
  23. Hooray to Joey!!! This is marvelous!!! Way to go Joey!!! I don't blame you for strutting some, I would be strutting too if I could fly!!!!
  24. I have purchased the feathers-in for my ekkie (thanks again Dr. Flock) and it certainly seems to be helping him a lot. I have great hopes that he will stop plucking (and it seems he has) I have had Sully for just a year and some feathers have come back. He has been a chronic plucker for many years I understand so I continue to keep my fingers crossed.
