  8. What color is your grey's tail? A Congo has a red, red tail. I have a Timneh. The avatar picture is her at about 16 weeks. The picture in the signature line is Ana Grey at around 1 1/2 years. How about a total picture of your grey.
  9. i hope Freddie is found and returned home quickly.
  10. Hi Kevin and Jack Sparrow!!! Great name for your baby grey. He certainly is a little cutie. I hope all goes well for your sweet baby. I will look forward to hearing how he progresses over the weeks. Welcome to the Grey family!
  11. Just got my copy of Conversations with Cosmo today. I have read it and will save my comments for when others have read their copies. I will say Cosmo is a fascinating Congo grey and truly enjoyed his wit and intelligence.
  12. Hey Caitlin, glad to see you hanging around! Now don't be a stranger as we miss your great posts and friendship! Janet

  13. How about a play stand or a hanging ceiling perch in the living room so he can interact with you when you are home. My fids have their bird room where they just basically sleep and go to when I am not home. The rest of the time Ana Grey can go from room to room from boing, to perch. She always goes into the room I am in as she is a mama's girl. I also leave the collapsible travel cage up in the front room.
  14. Hi Vicky glad you decided to join the Grey Family!
  15. Those certainly are gorgeous feathers. Can I have dibs on the new bird you build or will there be a contest??????
  16. This should be interesting to follow and see how it all works out. Thanks for posting this Greywings.
  17. That is just too funny!!!! Way to go Rangi, to keep the BF on target, especially if he won't share!!!!!
  18. Fantastic playstand base. I am truly impressed. I can't wait to see the finished playstand. Perhaps that man you live with will realize that he should give you a hand before you ask yourself... Hey, what exactly is he good for???? You go girl!!!!!!!!
  19. Just go about things as you normally would. Offer Rene a treat and just go about your business. Jay's right, you will be forgiven. I'm glad all is okay with Rene's foot, he is lucky you where calm and close by.
  20. Yes Do you ever lie for the good of a situation.
  21. Can't help here. Ana Grey keeps her food to herself and so does my ekkie. Although Sully did ran his tongue across my arm a few times which gave me an eerie feeling. But this will be an interesting post to read.
  22. To me a baby is a baby is a baby, human or animal and they have to be fed on schedule. Jay is right, you will have to feed the baby birds on a set schedule, just like a human newborn no exceptions if you want them to grow strong and healthy. I know you can do this. It is a sacrifice that when you brought the babies home you committed to. You can do this!!! Dave and Jay will help you just ask. I have all the faith in the world in you Tanya.
  23. Has Francis always been clipped?? I know when I first got my grey at 4 months old the breeder had clipped her. From day one Ana Grey tried to fly and she would jump off of her cage daily. Thank goodness she can fly now. Please don't get discouraged, if you show discomfort or unhappiness your grey will sense it and react accordingly. She is new in your home so don't take her nervousness personally. Just be calm and reassuring and Francis will become more comfortable. Let her come out of the cage on her own. Sit on the floor in front of her cage and let her come to you. Bribe her with a treat if need be. She will come around. If you don't want to sit on the floor move a chair close to her cage so she can come out and you can be comfortable. That way if she falls she won't have far to go. If you lock her in her cage she will just wonder what she did wrong. And she has done nothing wrong but be a little leery of a new home and new family. Talk to her and relax. You are a good parront, so relax and don't worry so much. Just enjoy your new companion.
  24. Sorry for being a blooming Yank!!!!!!!
  25. Both my fids do this. My grey and my ekkie. I'm sure others' birds do the same. Ana Grey also loves to just crush all her pellets into dust. Go figure why???
