  1. I delighted that you have grown to love Cocoa and that the two of you have learned to compliment each other. I can't wait to learn more about Cocoa and your now happy family! If you have any pictures of Cocoa, we would love to see them. Welcome to the Grey family!
  2. Can't wait to see more!!! Great birdie toys!!!
  3. Way to go Gandalf!!!! What a beautiful wingspan!!!
  4. What great pictures of Hannah!!! She certainly is a sweetheart!!
  5. Glad to hear Alfie is A-okay!!! When I had Ana Grey chipped, the vet wanted to sedate her and I said no. They did it without and came out to tell me Ana Grey was as calm and sweet as could be. I believe the sedating is because they (the vet and helpers) fear being bitten.
  6. Hi Leilac and Stella! What a very nice intro. Can't wait to hear more about Stella and your family! If you have any pictures to share we would love to see them. Welcome to the Grey family!
  7. If you are unhappy with the java tree, return it and give the dimensions you would like. If they do not have the proper size, ask for your money back. Surely they must have a return policy of sorts.
  8. Great pictures of your sweet baby!!
  9. I just cleaned up a big pile of corn on the cob that Ana Grey left under her play perch. Ana Grey just sat on the perch with her head tilled while I slaved away. You know, if I didn't know better, I would swear she had a big smile on her face will I labored away!!!!
  10. I am so sorry that sweet Billy is so ill. I glad your mom will be able to go to the vet on Saturday.
  11. Ana Grey loves her scratches and asks for them all the time. Sometimes if I am not paying attention, I rub the wrong way on her feathers and she will give me a nip. This can happen also if I don't pay attention to the new pin feathers coming in. She reminds me that, hey!!! that's uncomfortable!!!
  12. Ana Grey is chipped and it makes me feel so more relaxed knowing that I have done everything I can to get her back in case she does stray. Because she is microchipped, I can also easily prove she is mine. I know everything will be A-okay with Alfie and I hope Alfie is a good little patient during her check-up.
  13. Juno's Quilt is lovely and holds so much love. If there is a way for us to take part in the raffle, please let us know. What a wonderful legacy to sweet June.
  14. Nice pictures of Jasper. Thanks for sharing them with us!!!
  15. Just remind your children that greys live a very, very long time and at some point one of them might end up with Tui and those sounds will be joining him!!! LOL!!
  16. Depends on the company that comes over. With family, Ana Grey has run of the house. She has perches in all the rooms so she picks her spot. No one in my family touches my birds without permission, its just a respect thing I guess. Ana Grey chooses the people she wants to interact with. There are only two members of my family Ana Grey goes to, my 10-year-old grandson and my 21 year old grandson. If people are over that are not "bird people" I keep Ana Grey in her cage because she is more comfortable there and so are my guests. Ana Grey sometimes sits on her boing in the dining area when people are over for dinner. She doesn't bother people when they are eating. If I am eating alone that's a different story, she comes over and steals my food but then I let her. I believe that our greys are sensitive to moods and they can read when they are welcome and when people want them around. Example: When my youngest grandson is around, Ana Grey sits on her perch in the living room. The only time she comes to me when I am with him is when I am feeding him his bottle or rocking him in my recliner. Then she sits on the back of my chair quietly just watching. She senses he comes first and I believe realizes that he is more needy than her.
  17. Very nice intro to Billy and Echo, Nikki! It is very apparent, that you know your fids well. They are very lucky to have found you!!!
  18. Glad you have come back home Toria! Great looking pictures of Tweak and Sammi!
  19. Nice topic Stephen. I never drill Ana Grey with words and I don't remember what her first words were. Although there is a post here somewhere saying what they were, I was so excited. She only talks in phrases. Never only one word, I guess because I don't talk that way to her. Sometimes we talk and whistle back and forth because she enjoys it, but these are words she already knows. My daughter has been trying to get her to say, "Hello gorgeous" but Ana Grey refuses to try and my grandson tries to get her to say "Gabriel is a genius" but she ignores these words. The phrases I love the most that she says is "I love you Booba"\." It it what I say to her each morning. The only person Ana Grey talks to besides me, is my oldest grandson, Anthony, because whenever he comes over he always gives her a pecan nut.
  20. Hi Nikki, so glad you, Billy and Echo have joined us. I look forward to hearing more about your greys and seeing some pictures of Billy and Echo if you have any to share with us! Welcome to the Grey family!
  21. Great pictures, thanks Partner316. Very refreshing!
  22. If I were in your place and I was concerned, I would take another trip to your avian vet to see what his take on the situation is. To me that would be the best way to go. I hope your sweet grey is getting better.
  23. i give my fids fresh vegetables, beans, fruit everyday. When I say fids, I mean my canary as well as my parrots. My ekkie always has pellets in his water so I do need to chance his water often. Does he eat some of these pellets, I don't know. Ana Grey usually has crushed pellets in her food bowl and on her cage floor. I change her cage flooring everyday. Does she eat any of these pellets, I can only assume so. Eating pellets is not a thing I worry about as my birds get lots of fresh food everyday and I weigh my parrots at least once a week and their weight is steady.
  24. Oh I am so very sorry for your loss Kathryn. Vree will be remembered and I am happy that he is now flying carefree with the wind.
