Chris, you wanted him potty trained and you got it. Some parrots will not go in their cages if they can help it. But if necessary Lucas will go in his cage, because he has no choice. My pug is trained like Lucas, she will not go in the house she will bark and bark until I come to let her outside. But when she was ill and she had no choice she did potty in the house. Just like humans, if you got to go you go!!

Ana Grey loves it. There is an old thread here somewhere in which she is twirling and spreading her wings while I spray her.

I agree, newspaper is much better than corn cob. I tried some corn cob in a playstand I had for my fids and ended up with a lot of moths!!!!

If I get another parrot it will be an Amazon. I have been strongly thinking about Betsy an orange wing that is 35 years old and whose prior owner is deceased so she lives in a pet shop.

Thanks Judy, I'm ready to try anything now, she can be so stubborn about what she wants to say, but if I say a 'bad" thing just once, she can pick it up in a flash!!!

I know others hate it when someone calls their grey a pigeon. But I have been trying to get Ana Grey to say "I'm a pigeon" because I think it would be hysterical when people go home and realize "Hey, pigeons can't talk"!!!!!! She won't say the words though so I guess I am going to have to associate something she likes to the words. When I give her a pecan perhaps that will give her incentive to say "I"m a pigeon"!!! LOL

You are very lucky that you did not lose one or both of your sweet birds. I hope you will be very careful and not have them uncaged or unharnessed when you are outside. Hawks are so swift and quiet. They can swoop down without warning and cause such heartbreak.

Is Ollie flighted? I ask because my Ana Grey is flighted and to get her into her cage at night I just give her, her favorite treat or nuts and seeds in a food container I have on the inside of her cage door. This is a ritual we do every night and when she comes to eat her treats I just close the open. My fids are outside their cages all day as I am retired. Even my canary is a free range flyer and only goes into his cage at night ot by his choice.

What an interesting way to mist your greys. My Ana Grey loves cool water, but whatever works for each grey is certainly the way to go. I really like their names, great choices!

Congratulations on the headway you are making with Miss Diva, I just love her name!! It's too bad about her potty mouth, but with a little patience and understanding hopefully they will become a thing of the past.

I have had my Ana Grey since she was 4 months old and she is now 2 years old. I believe all greys are different and some are just more relaxed and confident than others. Ana Grey has not gone through the "terrible" twos or shown any fears at all, so far. So enjoy your sweet grey and hope she always has the confidence and trust she has in you and your home.

I also would see that Ollie was back inside his cage at night. You never know what could happen during the night. I always feed my fids there nuts and seeds at bed time. It insures they voluntarily go back into their cages at night. Good luck!
