  2. Ahhhh yes our sweet greys can always pick up the words and sounds we wish they wouldn't!!!!! Thanks for sharing your story with us, it is very funny!!!!! Reminds of when I let out a F--- it! (sorry but it hurt!!!!) when I stubbed my bare toe and Ana Grey said the phrase for weeks!!!!!!
  3. Thank you Karen!!!!! Will be checking out Chilli Pepper's posts!!!!
  4. Thank you Georgiesmum!!!!! I am all excited and can't wait!
  5. Hello Imayes69, welcome to the Grey family. I am owned by a TAG and find Ana Grey to be a sweetheart. I look forward to hearing more about your new baby and seeing some pictures when you get a chance. It's always wonderful to hear that a person has studied and read up on greys. One can never learn enough about our feathered companions. They are all different!!!!
  6. Congratulations on your new baby grey!!!! I look forward to hearing all about her and how she and Georgie get along!!!
  7. Yes Shanlung, we all learned about Tinkerbell and got to know you here. I have great respect for your knowledge. Libai deserves and should enjoy his own thread as he is a new beginning and with him you can teach us all so very much, if you would be so kind.
  8. Very nice video!!!!!! Thanks for sharing your cuddle muffin with us!!!
  9. Congratulations Sully, you have found your voice!!!!!! Looking forward to hearing what else you have to say!!!!!!
  10. Louie really wants to be my friend but he is still not quite sure. If I try get too close to him he will strike at me, not with an open or tip of his beak but a tap as a warning. It doesn't hurt but it let's me know Louie is not ready to trust me yet! Here he is eating a fresh snap pea!!!!
  11. I can hear my grey coming, she catches the wind in her wings and the sound is beautiful! When I hear that sound I immediately start my evasive actions, she is so quick! Of course, I live alone so there aren't other sounds in my home so I can hear everything!!!!
  12. Shanlung, you should start a new thread in the Other Bird Room so that we can all follow your training of LiBai. I look forward to hearing how you do this as I respect your knowledge to the fullest. I have never seen a Greater Green Leaf before so I can't wait to see your techniques in training him.
  13. I assume your grey is a flyer if he is landing on your head. Ana Grey is a flyer and if she goes where I don't want her, my shoulder or for my head, I just down my shoulder or shake my head. Sometimes I wave my hands and tell her, "No." She gets the picture and the action stops. Ana Grey hears "that's not nice" all the time and if I do something she doesn't like, I get this statement right back at me. They are very smart little birdies, they get the drift of things real fast.
  14. I have a female TAG and she loves me to pieces. Of my grandchildren she likes my 21-year old grandson and my 11 year old grandson. I believe our greys love/like who they want male or female their choice.
  15. Welcome to the Grey family, Jamesmates!!!! Am looking forward to seeing some pictures of Henry and hearing all about him!!!!
  16. I give my grey and others raw unshelled almonds, Ana Grey will take them and toss them (I give them as treats outside her cage) Louie, the Zon will eat some and so will Sully, the ekkie. But Ana Grey dislikes them a lot!!!!! I still give her, her share. Pecans and unsalted pistachios are her favorites.
  17. Such a little baby!!!! I look forward to watching your baby grow!!!!
  18. I will be bringing a young CAG home in a week or so and I plan to take her straight to the vet if not that day, the next for a wellness check up and a micro-chipping if the vet thinks she is fleshy enough. I firmly believe in a wellness check when you first get any new bird to join an established flock. (If you take your bird in to see a new avian vet when you first get your bird, the vet will then have a starting place to see the health of your bird so that if your bird gets sick in the future, the vet has notes as to the bird's condition when well {personal opinion}) Even after the wellness check I do plan to keep Isabella separate from my other 3 parrots so that we can become acquainted and she can get use to me and my voice. I can also make sure that in my mind she is healthy and ready to meet the flock. My very agressive TAG Ana Grey will be visiting her at this quarantine time (after a day or two) as she will need to meet Isabella first to approve of her (LOL!!) joining the flock!!!
  19. Very nice looking grey and Jett is certainly a cutie!!!!!! Can't wait to hear more about Link!!!!
  20. When I got Ana Grey, she was clipped. It took about a year for Ana Grey to become flighted. I brought her home 11/29/08 and she took her first real flight on 11/14/09. I did ask her breeder not to clip Ana Grey but she did anyway. Sometimes I wonder if she and I are so very close because she was not flighted and she had to be very trusting of me to care for her properly. I'll find out because I have asked my new CAG's breeder not to clip Isabella. So I will find out if it makes any difference at all. Just be patient and Sunny will be flighted in no time!!!
  21. No one should every apologize for being kind. I hope Little Man is found and returned to his owner. Thank you for your thoughtfulness.
  22. What a great Mom you have Munch!!!! Sounds like your Mom, Took and you all benefited from your vacation away!!!! I love it!!!!
  23. Shelby is fitting right in with the family!!!!! Congratulations on everyone getting to know Shelby in their own way and at their special time. Great networking family!!!!!
  24. If you could post some pictures, that might help us to understand what might have happened.
  25. Very nice introduction to Grey, dubiaghost. He does look like a young African Grey and very handsome. What does the band on your grey say? Perhaps it can give you some idea for the breeder for your parrot or perhaps the shop owner can give you more information about where the bird came from so you can check it out on your own. Regardless your grey has a very long life ahead of it and years of enjoyment for all of you. I keep newspaper in my parrots cage and change it daily, I have no other solution for keeping the cage clean. My grey also likes to shred paper and they do not eat it. As long as the paper is clean and free of glue, it should be okay. Parrots do also like bells to play with because they love to make them ring. I look forward to hearing more about Grey. Welcome to the Grey family!!!!!
