  1. Here is hoping Buddy's vet check does not show any health problems and that the plucking problem disappears with his new home, better diet and loving new parronts. Fingered crossed for you Buddy!
  2. I believe my greys really named themselves. Let's see as for my TAG, she is a little lady and I love the name Ana so it fit perfectly with Grey so she became : Ana Grey. As for my CAG, he is a beautiful light grey color like silver so he became: Sterling Grey. Louie is a re-home BF Amazon and he came with his name. The name fits my comical zon.
  3. Yup that type of bell is my gang's favorite too!!!! Great video!
  4. Can't wait to see some pictures of Buddy. He sounds like a great companion!
  5. My greys like plastic straws and tied together to chew and play with. Hanging bells to clang and boings to climb on. I believe Stewart is still getting use to his "freedom" and enjoying your companion. So relax let him find his way in his own time. Make toys and chewing things available and let him find his happiness. The kisses should let you know he is blissfully happy. Congratulations, you sound like a grey't parront!
  6. As usual, gorgeous pictures of Cocoa! Thank you Sanggay!
  7. Hi OtheG, welcome to the Grey family! Can't wait to hear more about Willow!
  8. My parrots are out most of the day and sit on me or on perches in front of my windows or in the birdroom. The poop is contained because my parrots have places in each room that are theirs to perch on. Birds poop before they take off not in flight. Therefore, the poop is contained in these designated areas.
  9. jgwalker, this is the wrong forum if you are interested in breeding greys. This forum basically consists of members who are here for their companion greys.
  10. Thanks for the suggestions. I have tried the rolls and flicking off and that does not work other than for Louie to fly off which is not my goal. It has taken a long time for Louie to be comfortable on my arm and I would like to go forward not back. I will try the light blowing, Penny, and see of that helps. And yes the talking for distraction helps for a little but I want him to not bite at all as this seems to always be his goal when he is on my shoulder/chest/or arm. I do have loads of patience as Louie is a great zon and I would love to have him comfortable enough to harness and take outside for walks like I can with the greys. He still will not step up although he sees my greys do it all the time. Seems he is my challenge for the next decade or so!!! LOL!!!
  11. Louie has been with me for 1 year 7 months and we have come a long way. This is a zon who now has no fear of his parront. But Louie thinks I am a tasty moral. However much I try to assure him I am not!!!! (this is a video, click on it). I do not wish to spoil the progress I have made. And although I can't touch Louie, he has no problem touching me.... all he wants! Any constructive suggestions would be welcome.
  12. I'm sorry this happened to you but am glad that Nova is fine. Congrats on your new baby and excellent work Sherlock!!!!
  13. Great pictures of DJ after his bath! He is a cutie!
  14. Have you had parrots before so that you know what is involved in parronting one?? If not, as much as I love my amazon, I would have to honestly tell you that you need to wait to see how your grey fits into your life. To properly give a parrot the true attention it needs, one to start with is definitely enough. But after your grey settles in and you know that you are truly a parrot person, I would recommend a zon as your next parrot!! LOL!!!
  15. Congrats on your great interview!!!! I can't wait to see your new companion!!
  16. Seems our greys are not the only mature individuals who are feeling their oats. Remember dear members that head-bashing should be done by PM not for all the world to see. Personal conflicts should remain just that personal.
  17. Amazons are the best and of my parrots my Louie, the zon, is the funniest and most active. Love to hear about others amazons. (hint, hint)
  18. My gang love pistachios and I purchase them salt-free for them because they are so low in fat. Expensive but healthy!
  19. If I understand this right, you say you paid for Archie in full but did not get a receipt or bill of sale. The seller says you only paid 1/2 and were to pay the reminder in 2 weeks. In 3 weeks after your pick up of Archie the police came, asked questions and then took Archie because you could not prove that you had paid anything for Archie. Personally, I would post an ad in the classified ads or other UK means and see if anyone else has had this happen to them. Perhaps this is an ongoing scam this guy does over and over again.
  20. This is exciting. Ask about foods, the grey likes/dislikes. What the sleeping, feeding, etc. schedules have been. What pellets are now being fed. If a cover is used to cover the cage at night. And if you can call with questions after you have had a chance to get to know this sweet grey. Can't wait to hear how this goes!!
  21. Too cute! Hey you have a bird feeder and water, what do you expect! If I were a duck, I would "come on by" too!!!! That's a mommy and daddy duck. Can't wait until the ducklings bring in their friends!!! LOL!!!!
  22. Luv the photo!!!! Happy Hatchday Nilah!!!
