they sell these little hard indian corns ( look like dried corn on the cob) usually in the rabbit section but some places in the birds stuff. You put them in the microwave for about a min all the corn pops and most stays stuck to the cob. perfect foottoy treat. I thought it was fun so I thought I would share. make sure its cooled in the freezer before handing it overas the cob stays hot for a very long time.

For the past 8 years I have been self employed, its been wonderful making my own schedule and such but there are many downfalls also. My business will continue with my hubby at the reins while I am going to start at Whole Foods. Money is great with wonderful opportunitys to advance ( already have me scheduled to train @ the Whole Foods University of Managment lol), pay is very good and the benefits you just cant beat. so back to a scheduled work day for me. My poor animals are so used to having me around all the time this is gonna be a huge transition for the whole houshold. I really hope everyone is ok and this wont be too tramitic on ZZero. to try and make it smoother I will be part time for the first month (sweet of them huh?)but then I will be a full time empoyee gone for 40+ hours. Any suggestions to make this smoother on ZZero?

Thanks everyone for the response, it just seemed odd they were so many outta the top of his head and just seemed to come off with ease. I do see pins so I am happy. ZZero has been almost in a constant state of molt since he was about 8 months on small portions of his body. I always think I hope its not too hot or too cold but I am just a paranoid mama. so far when a new tail come in he gets in a real bad mood for 2 days. I asked about this before to no real conclusion but I think when they first poke out it bugs him and he just gets pissy. The other day we had 2 bad days and sure enough thats when I noticed a tail feather. I appreciate all the help

upon a closer inspection I do see pins. I also have a message into my vet. mabey i am just parnoid it just didnt feel right to see them just fall outlike that. please let me know if you think I am just paranoid.

All seems well with ZZero hes eating, sleeping, playing and talking talking talking. but heres what I think is wierd. We have had series of mini molts, started with his neck, then head then around his shoulders. when I have seen this he alwasy has tons of pins there ready to replace the space. The last 3 days or so when I am scratching his head the feathers seem to just fall out? several at a time. is this mabey a calcium issue?? I have also seen 3 red feathers in a week( they are not chewed or broken)1 large one and 2 small. I remmeber reading that he shouldnt even lose these feathers till hes 18 months or so, this is our 3rd actual tail feather in 2 months.(ZZero will be 1 at the end of this month). Somthing just seems off when these feathers just fall while scratch time? he is on a a great diet and I always try to give him dark greens and he gets a egg once a week.

ZZero and I have had a great day today hes been on his best behavior and just been super playful and sweet. He has a bucket that hangs down thru his boing and I keep it full of treats and foot toys. I guess he has found if he puts his head all the way inside its like a microphone. So now for the last hour he has had his head in the bucket going thru his whole repertoire of words. I cant stop laughing I had to share. gonna try and get a video or atleast a pic.

Gotcha I just thought it would be neat for him to see other parrots but I am not willing to take any chances. Thanks for the reply. Not all of the avairy is open to the public just when she set some of the breeders in thier outside cages but I agree with what you guys have said, and we will choose to stay safe. ahh what a little flyer, I can tell you are having so much fun having a baby .

here in town my friend has a huge place she breeds and sells toys, I would like to take ZZero with me to pick out some toys and mabey walk past the breeder avairys. The cages are outside now, she has been in business for 35 years so I would assume her birds are healthy but if we were outside and kept our distance would it be safe?? I dont want him to get any sickness, but I am not a expert, are any avian illnesses airborne?? could looking at all the birds from a distance outside mabey get him sick? Hope that made sense still sleepy

Thanks Caroline,Caitlin,Sheila,Janet and Judy you guys have been my strength thru this year, all your help and the help you always give everyone has gotten me thru !! ZZero is such a great guy but we have had little issues here and there and without you guys I might have gone mad lol Janet I am so glad you noticed that with his reflection that is my favorite pic!

LOLOL I had to put the plant outside it hated that room Yes caitlin I think he was definatly losing it lol That playstand has been a huge hit, I hide stuff in the end of the tubes for him to find and chew and he spends hours there, while I nap or watch tv
