1. I just sent an email off to Hapetoys/Educo to ask about the paint and wood that they use, just to cover all my bases I love writing official e-mails sometimes hehe.
2. I wrote an email to the toy store company that I saw them in, they replied with the following: Thank you for your email. At Mastermind, we are committed to carrying the very best toys. We try to ensure that our toys are fun, educational, well-made, safe, and a great value for our customers. We continue to work with our trusted toy supplier partners from countries all over the world to ensure that our toys meet all of these criteria, including each and every safety requirement that has been set. We focus on the toy itself, and it is our commitment to continue to provide the very best toys, and to help you find the best suited toys for your children. Also, the bead frames that you are looking at are made from the following company, here is a link that discusses this information further. http://www.educo.com/PDFs/China_is_Perfect_for_Producing_HaPe_Toys.pdf looks like Loki might be getting one
3. Melissa and Doug have one, though it looks tiny. It seems the only place me and my wife can find these toys are at Masterminds here in Toronto. I would figure that since they're pretty much an upscale toy store that they'd have better quality control. Pity thing is we don't have Melissa and Doug's here in Canada, and they don't ship up here either. This is what M&D have ... tiny huh?
4. I was thinkign of trying to make one or something similar. I just can't seem to find Stainless Steel wire that isn't a weave like speaker wire. I don't want to risk that getting freyed... I used to work with speaker wire a lot, god knows how many times I've stuck myself with the pointy bits . I've checked Lowes and Home Depot here in Toronto, and I just can't seem to find any.
5. At least then I can attach other toys and replace old ones too. Or should I be afraid of him biting at the bars? .... Drat my newbieness hehe.
6. Are the bars attached permamently? or screwed in? I don't mind taking one apart and stripping the paint off the blocks and redying them. The ones we saw were in boxes, so didnt have a chance to see how it was all put together.
7. I've seen a few pictures of Greys with them, Kim and I are trying to figure out if they're safe or not, since the ones we have found are made in China and are painted. Any ideas?
8. Thanks for the welcomes! I can actually do one better then pictures of our little baby plucked chicken :woohoo: http://www.youtube.com/user/Bozzz71 And here is a picture of the cage we bought too
9. Hmm, evidently, the photo I tried to attach was too big, hence the edit. B)
10. Hello to all of you! Just joined and wanted to say helloooo. My wife (Kim) and I (Bryan) 2 weeks ago adopted ourselves our first pet, we skipped the fur and went right to the feathered. That, of course, being an African Grey. My wife has experience with birds, me? none, but I've been doing endless research hehe. His (Not DNA tested, so unless he lays an egg in a few years, we'll say "He" hehe) name is Loki and he's still at the breeders, he was born on June 10th. We picked the name after the Norse god of mischief (we're pre-planning the chaos hehe). Loki, in Norse and Celtic mythology was able to change sex and apperance to cause mischief, so it works if ~he~ ends up being a ~she~ hehe. We just bought a new cage from the breeders as well as we've started buying toys and stuff for his home-coming in September. Me and the wife never really wanted kids, so we did the next best thing ... so we've been warned hehe.

Post edited by: Broomer, at: 2008/07/20 08:36
