1. I think I will end up with a macaw or cockatoo one dayB) B) Oh yeah and like 3 more greys;)
2. Those are very nice photos of grey chicks. Thanks for posting.B) Makes me want to go buy one of those little furry balls.
3. Well I continued the model training with Congo today. Instead of my daughter it was my son and I. What I do is I have some sunflower seeds on the table where she can see them and say hello. Then my son repeats it and I pass him a seed and he acts like he eats it. The most we got out of Congo was to whistle after asking her hello. She does get in rythm though she whistles after I say hello. I think I will give up on the training because I do not want to encourage whistling. What do you guys think??
4. Very nice cage I love the setup. Congrats and good luck with the amazon which is another excellent aquisition for the flock!B)
5. My daughter just talks to her no treats but i started to model train with my daughter 2 days ago. I hope all the interaction will initiate a talking behavior. If she never talks I don't really care. I love my bird{Love-0002011D}B)
6. Thanx for the replies evry1.B)
7. Yes it has been fun. This whole forum has been great.B)
8. I respect everyone's choice that is how I've always been. I myself choose to have my bird clipped. I already lost a blue front amazon due to an open door incident and her not being clipped. While I do not argue that there probably are a lot of lost birds clipped missing and/or lost, and carlylu; your point about a clipped bird is sitting prey for cats or other predators is a heck of a good point, I think a clipped bird would be easier to recover out in the open than a flighted one. Just remember Tui!! Guys we must use discretion in making good decisions. We must exercise common sense before exercising free will, don't you think? If my clipped bird climbs a tree I will sit under it and camp out until it comes down from it; but what can you do with a flighted bird? That's just my point of view. {Nature-00020095}

Post edited by: Trustdace, at: 2008/08/07 02:14

18. Well what I did was I placed him in the sink and softly let the water roll off my hand onto h/her. At first it started squaking and flapping wildly, it knocked the sponge to the floor and water was spraying everywhere. I managed to calm it down for a few seconds and put Congo directly under the water but just his feathers not the head. Congo was going bananas again and was trying to bite the water...lol!:laugh: My wife was filming the whole thing and getting wet at the same time. My daughter took the pic and I wrestled Congo keeping him in the sink. The whole ordeal lasted about 2 minutes. I managed to wet his head by wetting my hand and then rubbing his head. I did try to wet underneath the wings and did get some water under them. I think we did ok for the first time. Next time I will have a spray bottle and a rubber mat.:evil:
19. Well they told me to call tomorrow afternoon they didn't get the results yet.:angry:
