This is disgusting , those pictures are so sad. Yes , what about breeding ? I think someone needs to do something about this place . Those conditions can not be healthy. Mary

BMustee, thats good to know about the poop off.I clean my cages daily with straight vinegar water on a power rag .The vinegar really melts the poop. I wash all toys daily in a hot water bleach solution and rinse well . Dry overnight and put back in the cage the next morning .I am so afraid to let them be exposed to all that bacteria , if left for days .One big mistake I made once was I had washed all of these wooden foot toys , and wiped them dry , I thought and threw them in this container that I keep stuff like that in . Well you know wood thing always go to the bottom after a while due to the fact they are sort of heavy .Well , I kept smelling something , dug down in that container and all of those wooden toys were growing mold .It was so nasty . So my tip is to make sure all wooden stuff is out somewhere where it can get some air to it after washing, before packing it away .Thanks for letting us know that poop off works.Since you work at a pet store , I can see where all of that stuff would be right at your finger tips , do you also use them at home or just at the shop ? People who have never owned a Parrot have no idea the time and patience it takes .All I can say is the Grey is the most awesome creature on earth .I would love mine if he never spoke .The beauty of just watching them at play , is so rewarding .They can comunicate without speech . It's like my female dog , she was born naturally docked .The first vet who she saw when she was a puppy said , "oh she won't have a personality" ...I never went back .Well my dog is 8 years old and you should see her wiggle her b hind , it is so cute .So they don't have to talk to express themselves. People really should take note to all the post about how everyone fusses over their birds .They take a lot of time, and it is aweful to get rid of one because they don't. Mary

Pchela, I am sorry , I either forgot or missed the excitment . Congrats.I know he is precious , no matter what you name him .Who is your breeder? Mary

Matt , I am so sorry. I have lost one before also . The stillness in the house is so painful ,so empty . Time does help and always remember you gave him the best , he was a lucky bird to have won your heart. He is now at the Rainbow Bridge , healthy, happy and free. You will meet again . Chin up, you are in my thoughts. Mary

Now Pchela, I think you mentioned you are in Texas, well how about a Texas name? Cowboy, is a Texas name .Just kidding , LOL....however at one time I was going to purchase a baby Grey and I was going to name him CowBoy.It didnt work out with the breeder , she sold the one I wanted . So I backed out. You will pick a wonderful name, when do you get the little one ?I am fond of Greeley Mary

Hello LMG, She is adorable, and I love her name . The last pic is so cute , she looks very young. How old is she ? Congrats, I know she is one lucky little girl to have such a wonderful Mom.Enjoy!!!! Mary

Empress, I hope we have not scared you away from getting that baby. I assure you the love and joy he /she will bring into your life is much better than the smell of a cleaning product. You know as Kim has suggested the new green cleaners smell good, so they are offering a new line that is safe to use around birds,( not on cages)and probably better for us. It will be OK. mARY

Hey BMustee, Sorry Florida is way to far...LOL...However if all of you want to pay for my round trip flight , I might work something out ..LOL... I like the suggestion you have for diluting the Poop Off. Do you rinse afterwards ? Keep up the good you are doing for those birdies at the Pet store. I know they love it. Mary

Hello Codysmom, the only thing that concerns me about EZ care , although it sounds wonderful is that it says it smells like oranges.Would this be too much for the birds ? Most of the orange cleaners are pretty strong smelling. Mary

LMG, I would love to know what you dig up . Now we are detectives !!!LOL... Mary

Great idea Pchela, or perhaps you could find someone to just help you with him for a while . Think about it long and hard. The lady , I bought my Cag from is so sorry , she sold him . I am sure with time you will do the right thing and it is wonderful of you to be so concerned about his well being . Good Luck , Mary

Pchela, your in Texas . Sorry , I can't. I have my hands full. Thanks for the offer:) Mary

Pixiexoxo, I did check it out and read the parrots are not up for adoption, they say the birds are happier there rather than being locked up and only being allowed out when we get ready to let them out. I was sick to my stomach when I got off that website . I am sure they mean well , but to make people think that their way is better than a loving home with a family is slightly misleading . There has to be a hidden mission , somewhere . Mary

Spookyhurst, they are so neat. They love attention but they usually don't want to cuddle and mine will only allow me to pet on her in a neutral room .She just plays and plays ,such an easy non demanding bird .I wish you could have the plums also .They are beautiful. Mary -
Siobha, that is going to cost you 1 whole Karma for not cleaning ..LOL....just kidding.I don't know where you live , if you live close , I would be happy to help you. Anywhere in Texas ? Mary
-
Lovemygrey , you are so sweet , I am so glad we make you smile . Please direct all cleaning questions to Kim and I in the future.I wonder if we should charge for info or perhaps we should have an official cleaning moderator title ? What do you think .I am probably going to be in trouble since part of this is OT ...Sorry. Hugs, Mary

Hi I have a female Alexandrine who is related to the IRN's . In the Alex species, the ring around the males neck does not come in till around the second molt . I believe this to be true about IRN's as well .My female does have the bright red beak. Irn's love seeds , so be careful not to give too many or else he /she might turn into a seed junkie .I have to buy a fortified seed with pellets in it , or my bird would starve to death .LOL...She also loves green bens , peppers, squash, apples and collard greens.IRN's can be very nippy and can be very territorial around their cages .I had to get mine away from her big cage , so she has a sleep cage and a playstand along with her big cage .They have to be handled a lot or they will not stay tame . Keep us posted and there are many yahoo groups for IRN's if you need one .They are awesome birds and are trainable to speak and do tricks.Fun Birds..
