WOW, you did a fantastic job with your play gym. I'm not sure what DIY stands for, though - lol - What is the pink covering you used? My husband tried making us one, but we ended up ordering a tabletop gym. I'm definitely going to be showing him these pictures. I love the tupperware holder. Athena looks like she's having fun too! Nice job, thanks for sharing!

I ordered the one Judy has, the Parrot Tower tabletop green amazon. It probably won't be here for a week or so, but I'm hoping Obi likes it. This way, she can come into the office with me or in the living room in the evening with my husband and I.

Judy and Heather, thanks for letting me know about the play stands. Judy, thanks for letting me know that the Parrot Tower is sturdy. It looks like it's a pretty decent price for it too! I'm going to look again and then make a decision. Do you both put newspaper in the bottom of the play stand? I'm sure that makes for easy cleaning. Boy, when Obi flaps her wings, boy, everything flies - lol - hold onto your hats, for sure, when she's flapping! LOL I didn't realize how powerful those CAG wings are. Again, thanks for answering, it's helped make my decision easier on what to order, especially since you both have what looks like two nice ones!

Fairymyst, thanks for the link! I wonder if the Parrot Tower Tabletop Java Green Amazon would be good and sturdy? It looks small in the picture, but it actually measures 21 inches in height. Hmmmm, I may consider that one. Is anyone using this particular one? Thanks again Fairymyst!

I wish I knew what to tell you. I'm a relatively new Grey owner and I'm trying to figure out my Grey's (Obi) personality, if there is such a thing - lol - I hope that Obi comes around, but I've been told it takes patience. In your case, it seems you've been patient for a long time, since it's been a year. Good luck to you!

I wish Obi liked being touched, but she doesn't seem to want to be bothered. I got really excited, but I haven't had any luck since the day I posted about her letting me pet her head. I keep trying in small doses, trying to be very patient with her still.

Raposa, thanks for the suggestion, I'll check into the CD. I have a bird CD that my daughter had given to me with light music behind bird sounds. I played this CD while bringing him home in the carrier since it was a 1-1/2 hour trip - lol - but I'll definitely check out the Grey CD.

Please let us know how your training CDs and clickers go. I'm interested to see who recommends which, and then I may think about using this type of training with Obi.

Thanks, mas, for the helpful information. I bought the Kaytee parrot mix, and I mix that along with the mixture I bought from the bird farm near me with the light sunflower seeds. I've been giving Obi fruits, veggies, and still offering the bean mixture. At this point because she's still a baby, I'm letting her eat this. She's a very healthy bird, so I guess I'll just keep doing what I've been doing and continue to offer the pellets which are mixed into the two mixtures I bought.

LOL - too funny, aimed incorrectly! LOL That's like the lady who found out she was having twins, she told the doctor "but I only did it one time!" LOL

Aw, Raposa, I'm sorry you lost your Eclectus. They are beautiful birds. How long did you have her? Hopefully, both Jenna and Obi will start becoming more social. I keep waiting and hoping. I've been working with her each day several times a day, but I really don't know where to go from here. I try playing with her on the top of her cage, but she likes to play on her own. LOL I don't want to be too pushy, so after a while I stop bugging her.
