  2. oooh rub it in Toni  .... Its not fair! On a brighter side my son gave me a card he made in school and my eldest daughter actually bought me a mothers day present for the first time ever... a box of Butlers Chocolates. It must have been Tracey's video that did it so Thanks Tracey  Oh and Oisin being the good little parrot he is finally touched pasta with his beak... ok so he took one piece out of his dish and chucked it on the floor... but hey its progress!
  3. I like the way Hemmingway went straight for your glasses. This is why I had Laser surgery last year... the hidden costs of owning a grey!
  4. You poor pet. I don't know what to say to you. I am sitting here safe in my house in Ireland when God knows what is going on around you. If you lived a bit closer I would put on a huge pot of tea, and some chocolate cake, my mothers remedy for all ills. I am sorry we cant help you more, but we are here if you ever need to rant a little. It doesnt matter what your political leanings are, everybody deserves to be safe, especially children. Siobhan
  5. I haven't been in a number of years now. I used to go on business trips to Kiryat Gat and Haifa, but the company I worked for stopped us travelling there as it became too dangerous. At the moment I have a very dear friend and her husband living in Ashkelon. They are hoping to return to Ireland in March. I am worried about the situation in Israel, and I really want them home safe. I worry for ordinary people like you just carrying out their everyday tasks School, work etc. It is a scary place, but we ARE your friends and are always here to take your mind off things Siobhan
  6. It isnt that they dont remember is it Tracey/Kat? I mean how could they not know with posters every where selling cards, flowers chocolates etc. Its just that they dont see the importance of it to us. Well I am up sitting at the computer, and didnt get breakfast in bed or anything... but the day is young!
  7. Hi Fairy I am not FROM Israel, but I have been there a couple of times... does that count?
  8. I just played Traceys video for them... Told them that a friend sent it to me to wish me a Happy Mother's Day... Hint Hint Hint;) Will let you know whether THIS year is any different to the past 14 years.... not likely!
  9. It is tomorrow here too. Mine never ever remember. My birthday was a few days ago and they always forget that too. This year I got a present in the evening as my hubbie ran off to get one when he remembered during the day. Unfortunately it was a necklace almost identical to the one he bought me last year. I am supposed to remember all their birthdays though. I would love to accidentally "forget" them once in a while but I am too chicken. Siobhan
  10. Yes it was posted here. It is failrly amazing what they can do isnt it?
  11. Here is a really good link to a topic about making your own toys. I keep dragging this one back up as I think Connie has some wonderful ideas here, many of which I use with my guys.... http://www.greyforums.net/forums/african-grey/23317-toys.html#43555
  12. Oisin and Liath like anything with lots of booing and cheering like X Factor or American Idol. And they join in with gusto. Liath particularly has a thing about Simon Cowell. We say Look Liath its Simon and she blows a raspberry! (Its kind of like what does the cat say - the show doesnt have to be on at all!)
  13. I wouldn't tell her and let her stew!! But then that's just my evil streak showing through
  14. Ozzy is such a cute name. Welcome to this forum. I am sure you will find lots of useful information and some really nice people. Siobhan
  15. Just wondering what the weather is like in London? My parents went there today. It is awful here, really bad storms and rain. I am hoping its a bit better over the water....
  16. I didnt realise you started that thread... its a really good one! Karma your way
  17. There is another thread... you know your a bird person when... we should add a line about when you pay $200 a month just for rent for your birds. And they take up way less floor space than human children. I wonder would your landlord charge $40 a child if you were to have more kids???? Unbelievable ! But you obviously love your birds, if I had to pay a monthly rate per bird I probably would have been cured of MBS by now! Siobhan
  18. Hanna wrote: Of course you will, I believe the exhaustion and crankiness ease soon after the kids leave home, around thier mid twenties or so. Seeing as I will reach that milestone a few years before you do, I will let you know. The queeziness eases for a while at around 3 months, and resurfaces when the dirty nappies begin, and then eases again until they start going out at night with members of the opposite sex. But don't worry, as your babies cyber godparents, we will be there to empathise with you from afar
  19. {Feel-bad-0002007F} Ok can we stop now please.... this is really really yucky..... I have a great idea..... let's start discussing regurgitating.... people or otherwise....
  20. This is how I know the script so well. I have had many conversations like this. Most people just dont get it! Siobhan
  21. {Feel-good-0002006E} I am sorry for laughing but I can just imagine the phone conversation, Ronda calls her friend.... Ronda : Friend, Guess what I did with Sweetheart tonight Friend: What Ronda? Ronda : I scratched her neck!! Friend: And did she actually like that? Ronda : Yes!! She let me! Friend: So you called me to tell me you scratched Sweethearts neck? Ronda : YES!! Isnt that brilliant Frient: Sorry Ronda... but who is sweetheart again?
  22. Best of luck on the 19th Laurie. Fairy I wouldnt even try to quit if you dont want to. I don't believe you would be able to. As dblhelix says if you want to quit you will. If you don't you won't. I was happy with my decision to smoke for a long long time, and smoked happily knowing the risks. After my brothers death I just wasnt happy to smoke any more and finally managed to quit 2 years later. At the end of the day it IS your life. Why on earth should anyone else tell you what to do. I am definitely with Imme on this one. I remember the first time I drove in America on the wrong side of the road. I had my 3 kids in the back and my frantic husband in the front. When I finally got where we were going I was in a heap. So I rolled down all the windows in the car, front and back and had a smoke. And of course the caring citizen comes over and starts lecturing me on smoking in the car with the kids. I just kept saying thank you for your concern over and over again. But she wouldnt leave me alone. Eventually I told the kids in Irish to roll up the windows. As one all the windows in the car closed and she just kept on talking. It was brilliant
  23. The poor little mite. I have never clipped a bird so I don't quite know how it works, but surely once he cops he can't fly, he won't try? How do the greys with clipped wings not fall? Mind you they probably have enough feathers left to glide to the floor. Siobhan
  24. Karma to you Ronda for all the info. But Berna I think I will pass on that particular exam if its all the same to you.
