I go the natural route. I grow lavender in the garden and I microwave it to get a blast of scent. Or I put some dried in a dish on the coffee table. Speaking of coffee, I also roast coffee beans in the oven and cinnamon sticks etc. The best way to freshen the air I have found however, is to but the birds away and open the windows for 30 minutes or so.

Liath plays that game too, but she sort of throws the ball and her aim isnt that good. We call it beak ball!

When I went away to residential school for a week the first year I had Liath, she was like a limpet for the few days when I got home. She was surgically attached to me. I got more cuddles and kisses than ever. That's nearly worth going away for B)

That's the motto I used. I tried to quit for 2 whole years... And I mean REALLY tried to quit. So by my reckoning by 2010 you will be a non-smoker!! The thing that most non smokers don't realise is how hard it is. It is the hardest thing you will ever ever do. And you did REALLY great and you will again when you are back in the right frame of mind. I wish you the very very best of luck the next time you try. But do me a favour, and dont quit cos you think we would feel let down or your family or the people in Quitnet, the only reason to quit is because you want to, and feel ready to, not because it is expected of you by anyone else. So my advise is, give it a few weeks or months and try again, but dont start again today because your confidence in yourself has taken a battering and you need to have all the confidence you can to get through it. Gosh Liath and Oisin poop anywhere and everywhere! They have a couple of toys each in their cages, and lots and lots of dog/baby toys they play with when they are out.

You have just reminded me of a funny story about loving greys more than your kids.... I came home one day from town and said "Hello Baby girl", my youngest daughter says "Hi Mam" but I didnt hear her. I said "Did you miss me?" My youngest says "yes", I said "have you got any kisses?" And my youngest says "Mam, are you talking to the bird?" Oops! :blush:

How old is Charlie? I usually phone home while I am away and my friend puts the phone on speaker. It is really funny hearing my birds talk to me on the phone. (It is even funnier if anyone hears you talking because they assume you are talking to a young child:P )

Liath does the encouraging speech to my daughter Ciara. Come on Ciara, good girl, come on, come on, step up, there's a good girl, yeah, come on, NO BITING! :woohoo:

I am very lucky, I have a friend who has a Galah cockatoo, and a friend who has 2 greys. So mostly my other friends are used to big birds. One of my neighbours loves to call over to me for tea so she can hear Oisin and Liath talking, especially when Liath is in a grouchy humour. She thinks it is the funniest thing in the world to hear Liath giving out to Oisin. Quite a few of my neighbours have budgies since their kids met our Greys.... I think I have started a trend.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gizmo had something to do with it, he probably helped you take your mind of it and relax a little.... oooh I am so excited for you. Liath didnt say a word till 13 months, and then she learned a new word or phrase every other day. Oisin is talking already (7 months) but he is learning from Liath not from us. 14 months isn't late at all for CAG but it probably feels like forever for you Siobhan

CONGRATULATIONS MUMMY!!!! I am so excited for you, its fun when people get new Grey babies on here, but this is the first human baby since I joined this forum! Now to hell with Gizmo needing the same amount of attention after the baby is born... we do too! We want a daily update of how how cyber Godson/daughter is doing on a daily basis. How many kicks, wriggles etc before the birth and ALL the antics afterwards. Ok? As for Gizmo, if you think you may need to spend less time with him afterwards, perhaps you should ease him into a routine now that you know you can maintain afterwards. On of our greys is bonded to me and the other to my husband. We let them out together with me watching my bird and him watching his, we did this for weeks until I was happy they wouldnt kill each other. We were both ready to rescue our bird if necessary. They still scrap from time to time, but it is usually verbal rather than physical.

They are so cute! What are you eating? The grey on your shoulder looks determined to find out Can you tell us who is who of the three of them? By the way how is your new TAG working out? Is she in the bird room yet or is she still being quarantined? Siobhan
