  3. Hi Susan & welcome to the forum. We look forward to hearing more from you & chole
  4. You could get some aloe Vera juice to spray your grey, it may help to soothe any irritation from the new pins coming through. You can spray it directly on your grey & continue with the showers. Has the redness around her eyes worsened at all ?
  5. Pat i fully understand your anger & you have every right to be.Im sure Mr Magoo will soon put the weight back on,it's good that he eating everything you are offering him.He is back home now so that's the main thing, it definately sounds like his missed his mom
  6. Tonja that is a great site you have going there.Reading through Harleys progress you have had some ups & downs but you have done a good job.It will make good reading for anyone who takes the time to have a look.Thank you for sharing the link with us

  9. Caroline i know you have been through every emotion possible with Charlie. He suffered a traumatic experience which left him very vulnerable,& unfortunately charlie suddenly mistrusted you as he primary carer.I know he has made slow but steady progress since this happened & i know you love him unconditionally. From our conversations i know charlie is happy & content.I only wish i had more to offer you.
  10. Well i dont have technical terms either just good old common sense, and i do know that parrots cannot excrete sodium efficiently ( sodium chloride / Salt )so any excess consumption is not advisable for your birds health. Can i ask why you would need a scientific reply ?
  11. Great link Mary, Thank you for posting it
  12. Hi Sameera, you are doing all the right things to discourage her not to pluck but im afraid the answer to your question is we just dont know if she will stop.As you are aware by reading the various threads on the forum about plucking there are many reasons to why greys pluck & there is no magic cure.Hang in there try not to worry too much & by all means vent your frustrations with us
  13. Glad you was able to find out some more information We have a welcome room, why not pop in & introduce yourself & your grey
  14. Well just look at it as your dream is on hold for a while, I'm sure at some point in your life you will fulfill your dream of owning a grey
  15. Here is a link which was written on introducing a second grey, but it will apply to any bird.As Berna said there is a considerable size difference between the two birds & you will need to supervise any interaction & time out very carefully.. http://www.greyforums.net/understanding-your-grey/introducinga-second-grey.html
  16. Yes pad the bottom out with a towel & put newspaper on the top, then you can change the paper frequently,im currently doing this with my baby macaw, but she still climbs up the cage & gives me heart attacks but they do cope fine & usually find their way down.
  17. Personally i would go with the first option & keep the perches & feeding dishes low, once your baby has found his feet he is going to climb, they all do & it is a worry but he will be fine.
  18. I have heard the queen palms mentioned before but unfortunately im unable to offer any advice, here in the UK we have to purchase frozen palm nuts.Just be careful if ferel parrots are eating from the source you intend to pick them from as they may well be carring disease which could be transmitted to your bird.
  19. Ugly but cute in it's own way Thanks for sharing Tari.
