  7. Di the graze doesnt look to bad, they do tend to climb aroung their cages & can fall if they loose their footing,im sure monty will heal very quickly.

  10. Mel my two boys spoke around 5 months, but as your aware it can be from as early as 4 months upwards but this is not so common,6 months onwards really.Every grey will vary & there is no guarantee they will mimic speech. The longest sentence mine can string together is.. give us a kiss or what ya doing :silly:
  11. Yes i have four that love to make birdy soup I change their water bowls 3/4 times a day, fresh clean water is paramount to them

  14. That's great news, relax now & enjoy bobby,it just needed a little time for him to feel comfortable in his new home
  15. No you did fine, they need to get wet at least twice a week to help maintain the feathers in good condition, bathing tends to be followed by a good preening session. If you get a spray bottle. then spray above Congo's head so the water falls down like droplets
  16. Trust perhaps a spray bottle would have introduced him gently to bathing How did he react ?
  17. Hi Betsy & Welcome to the forum,as Siobhan im unable to help either, hopefully we have members in the US who can help you I wish you luck in finding someone.

  19. I thought it was worth pointing this out to you, please ask your vet to do some blood tests to rule out any health issues .I hope Refund & joey both get a clean bill of health
  20. Joey sure is cute Yes definately replace the cage ASAP the rust will pose a health risk if any is ingested by Joey.Does Joey have a history of plucking ? Do you know if joey has always had red feathers ? I dont like to alarm you but she red feather growth is a possible sign of PBFD an avian disease, just wanted to make you aware.Do you plan on a health check with your vet ?
  21. Hi Katie & Welcome. It is really early days with Bobby give him time to settle in to his new home. The growling often is the only way they can show us they are nervous & scared.Talk to him gently & reassure him,im sure he will settle.Any problems you have please just ask us & we will help you all we can.
  22. Yes i have to go with Baxtersmom Toni, i like Delilah & Dylan too
  23. Julie i appreciate the stress you must be under & believe me Webster will pick up on that,as hard as it will be please ignore him when he does this piercing whistle,he is trying to get a reaction from you,if you are responding by being angry he will continue to do it because he is getting the desired reaction, your attention. If you need to let off some steam just call on us & we will support you the best we can
  24. Great picture,i think the majority of greys would love a pizza crust to munch on, Yogi certainly looks to be enjoying hers, only in moderation tho
  25. Julie Welcome to the forum. Please try not to give up on Webster,he has already had a very traumatic life form what you say.you have said it yourself he will be shattered to loose you.Does he only do this at meal times ? how does he act towards your nephew at other times ? Does he only accept females ? A little more info would help As for the piercing whistle, is it only when your out of the room ? Do you react to him when he does it ? Ignore the whistle, dont react in any way at all, dont give him any attention until it stops, when he has stopped then praise him, tell him what a good boy he is etc..He has to learn that making this whistle will not get him your attention,it will take time & patience but please try to hang in there
