  1. Hi D4NGEROUS & Welcome to the forum We look forward to hearing more from you & hearing all about MITTU
  2. I see your in the UK, it is totally illegal here in the UK to sell unweaned babies, you should perhaps remind this breeder of that fact  Have you left a deposit on a baby ? I for sure wouldnt want to buy from this breeder !
  3. Thats nice, very unusual, we dont see anything like that here in the UK !
  4. Sounds very familiar, tell him he is not the only one As i said there be fine But a good question in the first place.
  5. My greys are in their own bird room which has no heating. The room is connected to my living room via an aviary style door. The temperature does drop in their room slightly but i have never had a problem. They are fairly adaptable .As for the front door i imagine its not going to be in constant use, i dont think really your have any problems.
  6. Any new pictures Fal you can share with us ?
  7. It wont be long Broomer then your have him home for good
  8. Hi Julie & Welcome. Time & patience is whats needed here, from what you say i think charlie was probably bonded to the male & obviously not the female. It will take time for Charlie to trust you & gain his confidence back.As the others have said, sit near him talk to him ,about anything, the weather etc.. Is there any time in the day your around for a good few hours ? if you are then leave his cage door open, let him come out on his own accord, keeping him caged wont help the matter,as this point keep all his food inside the cage, when he is hungry he will return, but it may be a good few hours Have a good look around the different rooms & use the search box at the top of the page,if you enter different keywords previous posts on the particular topic your looking for will come up .
  9. Well as long as you didnt get it pierced Fal
  10. sorry Caroline i have no idea,to be honest i wouldnt let mine have it,you gonna have to be quick on your toes to pick it up
  11. Personally it's a matter of choice,my greys have access to their food bowls at all times,i like them to eat when their hungry, they dont have set meal times

  14. Hi Fal, nice to see you back Im not completely sure on this one to be honest, none of my 4 greys have been vaccinated. From what i know it is not common practice here in the UK & as far as im aware there is no standard immunisations for African greys. you will need to discuss this with your vet im afraid Sorry i cant help you any more.
  15. Lovely pictures,Thank you for sharing your little cutie pie
  16. Thats a great picture, you look very much the proud mummy Do let us know your babies DNA results Then you can work on a name !
  17. As Siobhan has said clipping is a personal choice & one of those subjects that will be debated until the end of time. For what it's worth I'm totally against clipping, birds were given wings to fly,you wouldnt buy a dog & chop it's legs off. Saying that i Can also appreciate that there are certain circumstances where clipping would be necessary,a birds safety being the main reason.A difficult call for you.
  18. Hi Natasha & Welcome We look forward to hearing more from you.
  19. Well i took to mine as if they were humans Tell him what the weather is like, what you have been up to,what your gonna make for supper etc.. just chat away about everything
  20. It will take time for him to settle,he needs to adjust to his new home & you,it takes a while & one day is such a short time.good that you are talking to him, that will reassure him & great that you tell him you have to go for a while, the TV will be company for him
  21. All babies are different just like kids really. There is no real time scale.some greys are natural fidgets & cant keep still, others are content to sit & have a scratch.By around 12 weeks + they should be quite mastered in their flying skills.you will have to teach your baby to fly to you.Hold out your arm, call his name & try to get him to come, give a command so he can associate it to flying to you,if succesful offer a small reward & plenty of praise.Have patience it takes time .
  22. Hi udbluehen & Welcome Have a good look around the forum, there is an array of different topics that may answer some of your questions. We look forward to hearing more from you.
