It only takes something to freak him,a cat, dogs barking,wild birds flying over head i just dont want him to take flight on you & they can.There is a thread here posted by Dan,ill go see if i can dig it out.
Well if it was me i would still use a harness,i know of greys that have been clipped still taking off,you just need an unexpected gust of wind to lift him & you will be surprised how far a clipped grey can travel or provide an outdoor flight for him
Provide your pet bird with lots of things to chew on the beak of a healthy bird will remain at a healthy length with normal chewing activities. supply an unending variety of toys and perches for him to chew on & rub his beak against,A good varied healthy diet too.

Emma you can give a chicken wing or drumstick,i remove most of the meat,leaving just a little,he will find the marrowbone for himself,but you are correct about it having splinters therefore i advise you watch him all the time he has the bone
As soon as they start to sprout Dave they are at the best nutritionally,they can go in the fridge in a container for a few days,ill soak some overnight & get some pictures up for you in a few days,if they dont start to sprout after 48 hours roughly i sling them as a bad batch .

Laurie i agree with you, klaus will be fine.Has he been in the car before ? Perhaps take him on a coupel of short journeys before your planned trip to get him familiar to it
Lima,kidney & soyabeans have an enzyme inhibator which basically can affect the digestion when fed in the raw state judy,cooking these beans gets rid of that enzyme & makes the beans safe to feed.
