hiya all im bk its mandi, thanxs for all ya post during my stay in hospital not having a much of a time am i, well im bk now but dont know how long for mite have to go bk in yet depends on hips staying in place.

update on mandi, mandi will hopefully be coming bk on the forum tomorrow or thursday.shes getting bored with laying in bed and not able to contribute into the forum . i did tell her health comes first but she wont listen to me thanxs for all ya concerns steve xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

just an update mandi is home now but not 100% fit yet. she laying on the bed now watching tv and buddy flew on her to spend time with her hes missed her loads.

just got bk from hospital after seeing mandi. she says shes missing you all loads and cant wait to get bk on forum. weather is not too good here its raining but mandi sister ended up stuck on the m5 on friday. suppose to have took them a 3 hour journey and it took them 17 half hours bk they was stuck in traffic on m5 where there was 8ft water on m5 further up .luckily they got off at a juction not affected but got caught by other road water floods ended up on a roundabout all night cos the police wouldnt let them drive in the dark. finally got home at half 9 sat morning. frightning hey. mandi cant wait to get bk home to see buddy. i have to go now as i have a message to give to someone from mandi . tc all xxxxxxxxxxxxx steve xxxxxxxxxx

just and update on mandi. she will be home soon .hospital has told me the hip she put out of joint went inwards and her leg and foot was turned inwards. which meant she could have damaged her pelvic joint with hip joint turned in. the good news is she hasnt damaged it thank god. she will be home one day this week maybe tuesday or weds depends on how well behaved the dogs are. i have had to look after buddy.not the best of tasks as he does not seem to get on with me but i managed to get him in cage. after an hour of trying. hopefully mandi should be bk with u soon .i havent been coping to well without her as the pets all play up when i look after them especially buddy.as soon as she feels up to it maybe end of next week or the following week i will make sure she comes to talk to u all. thanxs for ya worry for mandi and speak soon goin to see her now thanxs steve xxxxxxxxxxxxx:blink:

hi, its steve here mandiskem hubby just to let you she is not too good at the moment thats why shes not been on forum, she had an accident where the dog tipped her out the wheelchair. she was fine for a day then she went and put her hip out of joint .as soon as she gets 100% better she will be bk to talk to u all no doubt.

dont think buddy will eat them anyway lol hes a very fusy bird eats what he likes to eat grapes

lidia thanxs for that someone told me that it would kill them in minutes .advacado is deffo a no no. wonder why onions are poisionous .

i give my grey fruits and certainly wont stop me from giving it him its there for vitamins all fruit has got vitamins in for them and of course washed .

chocolate is a killer and so is advacado pears and apples if u give ur parrot advacado it will surely kill ya parrot within minutes. salt is a no no. dried beans will not go down into the digestion system too good as the other soaked ones. onion is another poisionous thing i dont know why but it is deadly to parrots. tomato leaves are deadly to everyone if u eat them even humans.alcohol is also deadly i do not give my grey any of these at all id rather be safe than sorry . mushrooms is a no no.

sun flower seeds if the parrot eats too many can cause lots of health worries. such as feather plucking bein a obese parrot. calcium deficiency and a few other problems. i take out nearly all the sunflower seeds in his food as they can be a sunflower seed junkie this is not good .if they are a sunflower seed junkie take away the sunflowers and put a diff things in food bowls but do this gradually. a friend of mines ag is a sunflower junkie he keeps on plucking his out and wont eat nothing else but them. until i took some food round for him to try hes now off the sunflowers and will be fine now with diff food. with new owners of birds its just trial and error of what they like and what not to give them .

soaked beans are ok. its the dried beans because they cant digest them properly and they get into trouble then with all kinds of problems.

im in the uk and been having 6 weeks solid of rain most places in the uk have been flooded out with rain up the doors half way .hope we dont get anymore rain

buddy likes apple juice not keen on others although there is a flavoured water they brought out here something revive will have to look when i go to the car i have a bottle left of it. they do 2 diff flavours 1 is berry which he likes and other is citrus he likes that too.

advacado apples are like advacado pears on apples u can get them in a few places but dont give them it.

i know u can give ordinary apples to them just not advacado apples . buddy dont seem to like apples he throws them out and says yuck not eating that

hi astro, i have now had my grey for a week and 4 days. his name was already buddy. i was gonna change it to beaky cos he likes to be nosey, but found out he knows his name too well he says hello all the time and uses buddy alot. maybe if ur parrot knows her name then keep it idf not change it and see what happens. pm me if u would like any help with her training and things i always lend a good ear .
