How can I forget the forum after last post was 9 years ago

hello everyone ,have you missed me im back now with more time on my hands. we have a new addition to the family a 41 year old african grey named sam she loves budddy not lol she tells buddy to shut up etc etc she has never been handled but she lets you stroke her head. i have been busy doin rescues left right and centre. so now i am all yours.

well at least i know that he wont be laying eggs but i now got to find a female 4 him as the humping the door handle is becoming quite a pain in the bum

hello all im back , been away from here for far too long after battling with my health i should be back on track now . buddy is goin to be dna sexed very soon as he is acting very weird. a couple of months ago i had to clip buddys wings because he was chewing my coving off the ceiling and i had to ip it down and re decorate. now hes flying again he flys onto the door handle and trys to hump his shadow.<br><br>Post edited by: Talon, at: 2008/11/14 19:59

hes doin fine just sitting on my shoulder doin all the silly noises like he use to do i had a female friend come to sort him out while i been gone shes done a great job of looking after him

guess whos home after 3 months in hospital yes its me mandi they finally let me home. to bond bk with buddy hes missed me alot.

hi all just to let you know mandi is back in hospital again. she had to give up her parrot training job as she had a fall on jan 8th and still in there. buddy and basil both fine same as the dogs and im just bearing up under the strain. she will be in there for a few more days but mandi hopes sooner than the hospital thinks. buddy is now 3 and still swearing and bein a little so and so to me. however mandi and i are having to move from the house as mandi cant get upstairs and need a more suitable place that will help her she sends each and everyone her love and she is sorry she has not been on to talk to any of you. bye for now steve xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

no need to oppologise love there is nothing to oppologise about. just things are a bit heptic for me at the moment and i can never seem to find the time to do anything not let alone spending time with hubby thats non exsistant.

eve i am not offended by the fact that no one believes me i dont care who does and dont and the fact that i have left this site is because of the commitment of my parrot training and work with the rescue centre and my own health issues. if i was offended by this i would have clearly stated and would have not bothered at all. just because i left the site has purley nothing to do with this thread at all.and the other fact is with my health problems and my own parrots to contend with i just simply dont have the time anymore to come on. i worked all day yesterday on training parrots and then started on my own. so would u kindly stop saying this thread offended me cos nothing does offend me what ever ppl think of me is their opinion. what ever i do or say still dont bother me if im right or wrong. i have also left the site because of my health problems goin in and out of hospital doesnt help .i was thinking of returning to this site maybe after xmas when i wont be so busy but now i really know. sorry to disappoint u all but i will now definately not coming bk to it.so i will be missing some of the ppl i got talking too and for them i wish u the best of luck in all the parrots u may come across in your lifes. have fun mandi , buddy and basil xxxxxxxxxxx

thank u all for wishing me luck. i will try to just depends on what time i have. when i finish training parrots i will be sorting buddy out n training steve to sort basil out. then the dogs as well and of course the parrot rescue place.there will be some i will surely miss.

im here to tell u all im leaving the site. thanks to all those who helped steve when i was in hospital battling with joint porblems etc.etc. but with the parrot training im doin and helping with parot rescue work i wont be able to come online like i do now and talk to u all .for those who wish to keep in touch please email me on mandiskem@aol.com and when i get a bit of time on my hands i will reply. thanks to u all for being nice and friendly in the short time i joined on here.

beccy its the woman who runs the rescue centre that told me. and i will be posting a last poster as im leaving this site .

she is a well known rescue centre and has delt with parrots for a lot of years.my grey has also had probs after eating chillies. i use to put them in his food but now i dont after he ate 1 he flew on his stand and just a few seconds away he flew bk on me and was weasing so i took them out n he was ok then not weased since.if u have a chilli and let ur greys tongue touch urs its very hotand thats why it can give ur grey asthma.this woman deals with big macaws too and had expirience with chillies n parrots.

and how i know this is a fact the grey i have loves them in his food he had eaten 1 and his tongue touched mine when eaten it and it was hot. after he flew on play stand and flew just a short distance bk to me he was weasing so i took them out and now he dont wease.

chillies can give our beloved parrots asthma. my boss at a parrot refuge centre told me why as well. with the chiiles dried and fresh ones gies off the hot taste we have in their mouths and causes asthma. the fresh bell ones are ok togive our parrots without the pips

if u touch dried chillies and then put ya finger in ur mouth its hot apparently this is the same thing as parrots get in their throats and causes asthma. my suggestion is to take them all out and use the bell peppers and take the seeds out .

the parrotrescuerefuge woman told me last night. its something that she found out. i will check on that 1 judy but i took mine out.
