  1. You won't regret it, last year at this time I was in your shoes. I brought mine home in Sept and it was a long wait to be able to bring her home. It will get here soon and you will have a ball watching him grow and learn.:cheer:
  2. I like Talon, like the colors of them but I don't have any interest in owning any type of lizard. But if you get enjoyment from them then by all means enjoy.
  3. Mushrooms are not good for greys, do not feed them to him, I read that somewhere but I don't remember where now.
  4. I would say this is normal, he is young yet and is still a baby so he wants to be comforted. He will be more independent as he gets older. I did not bring my grey home until she was 4 months old after being fully weaned. But she liked to be cuddled some and still likes a little at night before going to bed, she is a year old now. He will be more playful as he grows and gets more confident. I'm glad you finally got your baby home, I know I could hardly wait for mine after I decided to get her. The wait is unbearable. Keep us informed of the progress.
  5. I love the Einstein one too, so cute and amazing what you can teach them.{Feel-good-00020114}
  6. I just love those little babies.{Love-000200BF}
  7. You never want them to plunk to the floor, they can damage their chest if they aren't able to glide, and yes that would be painful.
  8. I know that feeling, I will probably drop some this Saturday as my bird club is having our bird fair and there will be lots of toys and other stuff.

    monkey nuts

    They must all eat the soft part inside the kernal of corn because my grey and my sun conure do that too.:laugh:
  10. That looks like a suitable cage for a grey, ThegreyMiester, and it has a playtop on it too.
  11. Good I'm glad some of the greys here like to bathe, cause mine doesn't. But then I usually take a shower, maybe I'll take a bath and see how things go. Thanks for the light hearted moment. :cheer: :laugh: :lol:

    Bird Fair

    Sounds like you all had a great time and your friend won with a bird you once had, neat. I am not a tiel fan either, they are pretty to look at but I have no desire to bring one home.
  14. Babies are so precious and that one is a cutie pie. Miltie I hope you get your grandson, I have one and 2 granddaughters and I love them dearly.{Love-0002011D}
  15. Good for you Number6 thats telling him.:cheer:
  16. Yes Talon she is saying a few words now and copying my laughter and even my way of whistling. I can't whistle so it comes out more voice like and she does that. :P
  17. Thanks Talon, I knew I was right but not the reason why. {Feel-good-000200BB}
  18. Any moron would know not to clip just one side. Birds need both wings to be the same for proper flight and if too many feathers are missing from one side they cannot fly or land correctly. That breeder should not be handling birds period.:angry:
  19. You need to get a picture of that to post cause that is so cute and precious.{Characters-00020067}
  20. My grey, Josey, is a female as me. She prefers me over anyone else including my husband. She is almost like a one person bird but that could change when she matures.

    Bird Fair

    Tari, did you bring home any more birds this weekend? You mentioned a tiel show, are you partial to tiels? The bird club I belong to is having our bird fair this Saturday and I am looking forward to it.
  22. I have one of those suction perches too but she won't use it.
  23. I don't know who your breeder is but he does not know much about greys if he clips only one wing because he will spiral instead of glide to the floor. And another thing the bird should have been allowed to master flight and landing before the wings were clipped in the first place. If I was you I wouldn't have much trust in this person if this is how they run their business. I definitely would not recommend this person to anyone else. Enough spouting off, I would match the clip on the other side and then allow the feathers to grow out, which won't happen until the next molt, and allow the bird to fly and land properly.:huh:
