  1. Mmmmmmmm that looks good enough to eat, Tari, thanks for sharing this with us, maybe you could list the ingredients so we can all make it for our birds.
  2. 2girls, my CAG is named Josey too, but I spell it different, mine is spelled like the character in the movie "The Outlaw Josey Wales", one of my favorites.
  3. Welcome to the family, Bernadette, glad you joined us here and we look forward to hearing more about your grey. What is your grey's name? I started out with finches also, a gift from my son one year for Christmas, and I was hooked. Then I got a sun conure and finally a grey, a CAG. You are not crazy because if you are then we here all are too, we love our birds and the grey is the most magnificent one of them all. If you have a picture you would like to post please do so, we love to look at each other's greys and admire them. If you have any specific questions please feel free to ask us anything, we will do our best to get you an answer as quickly as possible.
  4. Lovie, what a wonderful idea with the ice cubes, I am gonna try that, of course I am gonna have to find some cute trays like you have, but if I search around I may find something. Thanks for the clever idea.
  5. Beccy is right, she may have never learned to fly, but it sounds like the wings are clipped too much. She should be able to glide to the floor not drop like a rock for she could hurt herself, like split the breastbone. I agree with Beccy, don't put her in high places so she won't have far to go when she jumps off. Josey will come off her play top sometimes to come to me but she glides off easily, and her wings are clipped but I am allowing them to grow out.
  6. What a refreshing poem, 2girls, I love it, thanks for posting it here for us to enjoy. I see this is your first post, why don't you introduce yourself in the welcome room and tell us a little about you and your 2 greys, we would love that.
  7. He is not going to get frostbite, it is a fun thing for him if he wants to break it up, it is not going to hurt him. It gives him something to tear up.
  8. Darn I won't be home over the weekend but the first of the week for sure, I am making some kind of birdy pizza and Josey and I will share it, maybe some for Sunny. Its a good thing you brought this back into the active section, I had forgotten about it, 3 whacks with a wet noodle.
  9. Well you have done about all you can do to find the owner, but the owner probably thinks the bird is dead and has given up finding it. Any ideas for a name yet, I'm sure you have given it some thought and she will come around soon I'm sure of it.
  10. Boy would I love to go back to Hawaii, and especially the island of Kauai, the garden isle, my favorite of the 4 I have visited. But I only get 2 weeks vacation and it is almost used up for this year and some of it wasn't used for vacation. Maybe another year we will go somewhere fun, I can always hope.B)
  11. Workaholic, Talon, you need to take a vacation once in a while. I am taking a few days this weekend and going to visit my son in WV and then go to the amish country in Ohio to shop and eat. We also went to PA earlier this summer for a few days and that is about it for us this year.
  12. Thats an excellent idea, Birdgranna, and I am going to do something similar too tomorrow, and I hope everyone else will do the same. Thanks for reminding us of our blessings.
  13. Very impressive, Tari, I like it a lot.
  14. No need for that Joe, you are surrounded by women, don't you just love it, any man would. Nothing woosey about you.
  15. Be sure to let us know if it improves any or even if it doesn't, just keep us informed.
  16. Yes you definitely need to find another vet, if the one you took him to didn't even touch him, find an avian vet, no other vet will do. Try the aloe vera juice that Dave recommends.
  17. Thats what it looks like to me too, Tracy, a very popular household plant, commonly used a lot by florists for funeral plants, which is what I am guessing is where you received it Tari. May it flourish under your care in memory of your mother-in-law.
  18. I swear by red palm oil too Dave, I give some of it to Josey and Sunny every day.
  19. Not in all animals they aren't, Tari, I know that a lot of the large breed dogs don't have the lifespan that some of the smaller breeds do. It can vary.:silly:
  20. Congrats, Tari, you finally made it, our club gets bigger and bigger all the time. Tari always has super information and is willing to go the extra mile for the members here and I am glad she is a member here and is my friend also. You go girl!!!!
  21. I wish Zooky would come back and give us an update on Mende, I think about her often and wonder about her. She is a special woman and may God bless her and Mende.
  22. Mine was african grey, yeh, I got the right bird.
  23. I checked his sales pitch on the internet and with such a long ramble on, I knew he was trying too hard which meant it was of no use to me. I agree, the best information is right here on this forum, we are full of it.
  24. Thanks Tracy for the picture, looks like a pretty good size bird, maybe a little larger than a grey. It kinda reminds me of that vasa parrot but is green instead of black. More than likely it won't get along with the greys, but are you still considering it?
  25. Thats right, Toni, we have not heard anything more from Mark about the budgie, how about it Mark, we want to know if you do truly have a new bird or what.
