  1. Patience, thats all we hear is patience, and patience is what you need and persistence of course.
  2. Tracy I can hear that echo from here, LOL, I'll bet it can get crazy sometimes. Josey has picked up the sun conure's scream, but at least she does not do it too often, you would think I had 2 conures.:laugh:
  3. Thanks a bunch for the safe and unsafe wood list, we all need to keep this handy for future reference, especially for those who wanted to make their own perches or getting some branches for destroying.
  4. I love all those old favorites too, and my favorite of all time is Unchained Melody but the Rightous Brothers. I absolutely love that song.
  5. It all comes down to the individual bird, what works for one may not work for another, in your case Talon I think you did what was best and what I would have done in your place.
  6. Josey is 16 months old and I spoon feed her a warm meal in the mornings, and it will come in handy for meds if and when that day comes.
  7. Thanks a million for another hearty laugh. {Feel-good-0002006E}
  8. Answers to Joe's questions would help, but if you have had the grey for any length of time, he will be fine until you get back. I have been gone for a week and my Josey was glad to see me when I returned, and others here have been gone for longer and their grey was happy to see them on their return. As long as he is well taken care of, don't worry about it and enjoy yourself.
  9. Josey sometimes grooms my hair when she is sitting on my shoulder, but she is not much of a cuddler anymore, but she does give kisses. She does not groom my feet.
  10. Talking about the lincoln logs, my grandkids are playing with my son's lincoln logs that he left behind when he moved out, they are enjoying them immensely. Thats a good tip about looking for toys on ebay and with a little soap and water they are fine for our greys if you can find a bargain on them.
  11. Josey's favorite time of day is of course when I get home from work for it means it is time to come out of the cage. She comes out and climbs up on the toy hook on her playstand and seems to preside over her territory. And I must say she gets most excited when I take the package of shredded cheddar cheese out of the fridge, you can see the excitement in her eyes. She also loves most any kind of pasta or rice and digs into that on my plate at dinner and eats like she is starved. Her favorite toys are most anything with bells and she likes to tear up any kind of paper.
  12. And Talon should know, but I would check to see if it is possible to bring your bird in the cabin with you, I know sometimes they allow small cats or dogs in a carrier to be taken in the cabin maybe under the seat.
  13. You haven't seen me beg yet, Joe, but thanks for the pity karma, and right back at ya.:whistle:
  14. They are so cute, but no budgies in this household, I draw the line on no more birds.
  15. Dave has given you some excellent advice, your baby will be thru some ordeals that mine didn't have. I got mine from someone local so I was able to visit her occasionally and she only had a 45 minute ride home. So I handled her immediately and she settled in quickly but they are individuals so let her tell you when she is ready for more interaction with you.
  16. For that matter you might as well tell them there might be poop everywhere, I wear it on my shirts at home all the time, but most of that is from my sun conure, I pretty much have Josey trained to go elsewhere.
  17. Thanks Penny, I owe you one. Love you. {Love-000200BF}
  18. Well maybe I should have said a million times, but that is what I have been told to do, keep putting them back and eventually they learn they have to stay where you put them. He is a young baby so he is stubborn but in time he will do better, have fun with him, they are so precious as babies with those dark eyes.
  19. That idea has been suggested here before but it is a good way to try to get your grey to eat their pellets, soaking them in apple juice or similar liquid.
  20. The other one was the most touching song/lyrics and yours is your favorite love song and why, I think it merits being 2 separate threads, what do you think Joe? I think Penny will go along with whatever you decide, and if she doesn't she will have to answer to me, hows that!!!!!!!!!!

  22. Good advice BMustee, I would bring him into the apartment also if I were you Razza, I know you miss him terribly and I think he will adjust if you handle it correctly. Go over the things BM mentioned with your roommates and go for it. Be sure to let us know how it goes.
  23. Now Toni what is wrong with bird poop, I know you don't want it everywhere, especially on books. You need to just put him back on the playtop every time he jumps off, and I know it might be a thousand times but every time put him back to let him know he has to stay there. LOL are you having fun with Alcazar yet Toni, I know you are.
  24. I don't do Ritz, townhouse maybe but not the ritz.
  25. Yes that was a low blow, Dan, and I hope Kim makes you sleep on the sofa tonight, better yet I hope it is in the doghouse, sofas can be too comfy. You will pay for this foot in the mouth, Dan, and you take her out for dinner tonight and treat her like she deserves. And don't think I won't check up on you, because I will.B) I know there are more men out there that can cook, they certainly can cook up a bunch of baloney if you catch my drift.
